im sorry if this is a stupid question but i keep reading about LST and want to try it can someone please tell me what this is and how to do it a link for a tutorial anything i am just trying to improve my skills thankyou

i was told i should LST and dont know how!

Hey Bubba, This is the best pics I got of a plant in LST. I used a paper clip to attach her top to the side of my 2L bottle. I like to punch holes around the rim of my pots so I can tie her down w/out ****in up the other nodes from the pulling away.
Enlarge it to see her better!

This pic you can see the other small branches coming up, unfortunately some strains do not LST as well as others. This is a 45 day bloomer NLxEarlyPearl so she is just wanting to grow a big cola and not mulitple ones. This is the second time I tied her down and she just wont push out those side ones.

Good Luck!

yes listen to Pure he knows what he is talking about...i never checked the tightness of the string tied around my plant and when i chopped it the string was like cutting into the plants stalk!
The stalk wont stop getting fatter just because you tied a string around it...so yes do as he says!
good luck man...later

Then use 18 guage insulated electrical wire. It is super cheap, easy to bend, twist, adjust, etc... You can find it at almost any auto parts store.
Nice plant pure...
Here's a pic of 6 plants, you can't see 2 others, but like pure states, you can get huge yields. That crop yielded me over 2 lbs.

definetly pay attention to tightness around your stems as pureknoledge said. i have left a little twine tied around a lower part of the main stem stay put for 2 weeks before. it was out of view, and i forgot about it. i started to wonder why its growth was being stunted, then i saw the rope was almost imbedded into the mainstem. i had to surgically remove it, and the plant still hasnt caught up. i like to tie a noose, so it can grow into the loop hole.

I've used LST for my last 3 grows w/ pretty good success. Honestly I use it more for height control with increased yield being a nice side benefit. If vegged short (i.e. no more than 2 weeks), I've managed to keep all of my Indica dominant plants less than 1' tall using this technique.

so your telling me that if i tie the top part to the pot that i will get more bud shoots? wont it break the stem? and isnt that bad for the plants? what about cropping? i will sometimes crop at like the 7-9th node and i will get multiple shoots? is there a diff and whitch one is better?

here is a side view of a purple kush trained for 20 days. ropes are off now, but you can see how much secondary growth it promotes.

Zorkieo, was that plant topped prior to training? Man that branch development is wicked low, so close to the soil. That is impressive! I love how symmetrical the bush is. I have managed to keep my plants real low, but I have trouble keeping them symmetrical like that. My issue is that the main stem ends up being a runner, growing sideways beyond the edge of the pot. I'd like to contain the growth +/- to within the diameter of the pot if that is possible. I think I have to get more aggressive with my training. I have some pics, but am having trouble uploading them right now. I'll try to get them posted later.

i started training when it was only about 8 inches. what i do is train all the individual secondary growth in the direction i want, and usually i get the symatry. and no i never top my plants. but training all the individual branches is the key. just be really persistant about keeping the canopy even, and you will ge good results.

Ive seen that if you LST thru veg then you supercrop during the stretching phase of flower you get a very nice bush.
