What happened to this plant? strange bud structure

Hey all, the strain of this plant is Waipi'o Hapa, a Hawaiian strain released by The Unofficial Good Guys breeder. At this point I wish I killed it because not only did it herm on me at the end, it never developed any kind of density at all. Another strange thing I noticed was that it was always dropping its hairs as it grew, every time I shook the plant to release dead leaves.

Was this plant threatening to herm the entire time and I didn't see it, hoping it was a Hawaiian sativa thing? Anyway check out the pics and let me know what you think. The plant next to it, a tangerine cookies from the same breeder, turned out looking fine, hopefully it wasn't seeded :cuss: Never buying any more from these guys

Grown under ~ 600 watts of vero cob leds in 2 gallon coco hempy buckets with perlite bottoms, trichromes were starting to amber at 8 weeks when it hermed and was cut, Megacrop, MKP and Recharge for nutes but i don't think this is environmental based on the neighbor plant looking fine, any guesses would be appreciated.

Your plants are showing an excess amount of nitrogen in flowering. You need to cut the nitrogen during the flowering stage and run heavy on trace and phosphorus. Megacrop, is high in nitrogen.

I think its genetic mainly...
She looks like an old school landrace sativa...i think that with the seed market dominated by random poly hibrids its pretty normal to get some genetics that do not satisfy the most modern tastes...to be nice...:smokey:

At least you planted some hawaiian strain, it didnt went to far off....
I had those annoyng weak non resiny and fluffy sativas in batches of Indicas so...my disappointing was much more!!!

Wow, thanks for the replies guys! I'm definitely leaning towards genetics, if only to not blame myself for this...it is 100% sativa. Next few runs I'll lower the megacrop to 4g/gal in flower and see what happens. Definitely not DIYing my own nutes, I would have failed chemistry if the final answers weren't passed around, plus I have SO MUCH megacrop. I did have heat issues but I hoped I got in front of them early enough with my new AC unit, possibly I didn't. Another issue I thought might have played a role is that these two were freaking huge for my 2 gallon coco hempys, she may have reacted worse to possible rootbound issues as well.

Thanks for the food for thought, everyone!

Too much Nitrate (NO 3 ) nitrogen will cause problems during flowering without turning the leaves dark. Ammonium (NH + 4 ) will turn the leaves dark and cause bear-claw. Both will reduce the amount of trichomes during flowering and it looks like that may have happened to the plants above. I see no resin on those swollen seed flower bracts.

Yeah creeperpark it definitely didn't resin out like the plant next to it, going to be backing off the megacrop and increasing MKP in flower to compensate I think.
