what happened to free beans?

I was a member of CC back in the day before Marc got arrested and there was always new vendors giving out freebies up to like a limit of 20 people and someone would post about it and everyone would try it out. I did that with a clone mailing service once, maybe 5 years ago. 3 free clones. There were also a lot of people who would just be like I have free beans pm me if you want some and it wasn't against the site rules. That was the way to overgrow man. Why doesn't it happen here? I once got some awesome lemon skunk beans. Its against terms of use? Are people just scared? Im high.

Free trading happens. it's just rarely talked about.


Also, i think the advent of semi-legalization is making people think about the value of their strains. some of the strains that people show here I think are worth $50K to $1 million, to the right medical cannabis company.

So people can be resistant to giving away the crown jewels.

Good growers are often given free beans if they document their grows on ICMag.

That's all it takes.

However all freebies must go thru Clarence (Bay/boo) so that everyone's privacy is assured.

People have learned over the years it's much safer to have a third party distribute the beans than dealing with ppl you've never met except online. That's how ppl get busted.

It's not about risking the site, it's about YOUR safety.

Lastly, peeps are getting very tired of being asked for freebies.

It's really annoying and it's gotten very old over the years. Esp. from ppl who ask for testers but never post up anything about the grow. So most breeders will only let reliable ppl test their beans.

If you ask ppl for freebies around here, you're not going to get a good rep!

I'd keep off of the boards, esp.
pertaining to the subject in this
thread. Posting about wanting
to trade, hinting at swapping,
making a topic about missing
beans/clones in the mail and or
mailing methods on the IC boards;
is where it transcends into dis-
organized shit and panhandling.

Basically, I wouldn't want to swap
with someone who is asking about
it publicly, on an open public board,
and neither would the site staff or
anyone that's genuinely concerned
for our own and the safety of ICmag.

I see posters, especially with low
post counts, asking for cuts and seeds
and there's like a feeling in the back
of my head that gets nervous lmfao.

Just my ;keep it safe by keeping
it off of the boards, of course people
will always ask about something they're
interested in but there's other ways to
go about doing that than breaking ICm
ToS to ask, in open public, if someone
you don't know will break the law for you.
For what? For who? For why? For free?

Be mindful for ICm, but most mindful to yourselves.
If you have genetics you really want to share with
the community, contact Clarence via ICm message.
Official vendors will offer vetted growers that post
journals test beans, to post up a grow journal too.
