What female do you reverse to make seeds??

I have made tons of autoflower seeds before, and just picked a plant at random to reverse.

With photo plants, what characteristics do you look for in a plant to be reversed. Is it the best female, or a clone of that???

Is it bad to reverse a plant of identical DNA (a clone to another clone)???

No. Just try it. It's a breeding tool called selfing. Some uneducated people will say the world will end tomorrow if you do it but look for yourself.

Excellent post, made me snort a little.

Like there are any un-educated growers on icmag, lol

Have heard of selfing, but know that it must have been tried a thousand times with GG4, without one keeper.

When it comes to breeding, I admit I am ignorant, and do not know what to look for. I will wind up making clones, to preserve genetics, then try each plant and cross breed the best. Really not sure which to pick for mother and father, from feminized plants.

Will most likely try cross breeding.

Just remembered, somewhere I have printed out a huge article about traits. If I find it will post a link here, in case it is of help to anyone, although it may be from rival website.

Glad I printed it, since it is no longer on internet. Was at seedmine, in 2010.

Take your best female and take a couple cuts.
Use one of the cuts to reverse and the other clone gets pollinated. Mother is still in veg.

The problem with GG#4 is it's a pollyhybrid so selfing and backcrossing will bring lots of variation.

But that is a big problem with cannabis in general even Skunk#1 and all have a bit of variation. I'm honestly not sure if you can ever breed a strain true like tomato varieties because you get variation from everything.

Cannabis seems more in line with Blueberries you can get alright plants from good seeds but you really want a clone though I do love wild blueberries though they're just small.

But who knows with Veritas Pharma Inc. working with GMO cannabis as well as other patented plants their is a lot we have yet to learn about this plant. I don't care if you are Robert Clarke there is more to learn about this plant.

But one thing I would add is to stress a cut of the best females you find a little bit just to make sure you actually have a solid female to breed with. Don't want to breed with a plant that has an underlying hermie trait same would go for regular breeding too.

Quit spreading lies!
Just because somebody said they intend to work with & produce GM Cannabis does not mean it has been done yet. There is NO GMO cannabis as of yet so Veritas cannot be working with such.

Loc Dog,
GG#4 has been used to make S1s with quite a bit of success, imo. There's a thread dedicated to those seeds in the GG forum. There're quite a few stellar specimens to be had from that poly hybrid selfing. Same can be said for GSC S1. Lots of keepers to be found in both lines.

Reading is all good & I do a lot myself, but doing is where the real learning begins.
