What feasted on my leaf?? **pic**

Hello All,
So I woke up this morning and went to check out my ladies and one leaf on the top set of leaves had some bites taken out of it. Its Nirvana Ice, 5 weeks old, from seed in a 28''x 49'' closet.
This basically happened over night, and only this one leaf on one plant had this.
I noticed a super tiny, barely visible white thing hanging off the bite sight, so I took it off with tweezers and inspected it with my 100x microscope. It looked like some green material covered in a white/clear fibrous material. I have no idea, it definitely wasn't alive and didn't look like a Symphilid, Thrip, Spider Mite, fungus gnat or anything I know of. So I don't know, weird wacky stuff.
Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think.
Thanks for checking it out and smoke on.

Yup, thats what has me so confused. Looks like a caterpillar got to it or something..... Color me boggled.

Whatever it is will be easily visible. Looks like something definitely sneaked into the grow space and should be easy to spot. I would think a caterpillar should stick around on the plant. Could be a grasshopper but should also be easy to locate. I doubt a slug. I wouldn't too worried whatever it is. If damage continues just check the plants and grow space thoroughly and am sure you'll catch the little ripper.

I've had the same thing going on lately. I completely scoured and cleaned everywhere and found nothing. Hmmmm.....

Yea it looks like a caterpillar had himself a nice dinner, but I have no idea what's going on....... I inspected them all up and down, cleaned out the closet....found nothing  Must be some kind of sneaky little beast

Furthermore, I live in a part of the world thats just thawing out from a cold, snowy winter. So I dont think slugs exist here at all, and there won't be any caterpillars or grasshoppers for another month or two........

Do any spiders like to chew on a nice herb leaf now and then?? :bashhead:

I have the same kind of damage to my plant's leaves. I think it is a pest that lives in the soil of the pot, and climbs up the stem of the plant. I have made cones out of plastic soda bottle material and taped them around the stem of the plant. I am going to neem the plants as well, and I will also think of using some more dastardly nasty pesticide if this damage continues.

thoes are deformaties from the oncoming mag def thats causing the pale strips across the leafs... get soem sensical solution from your local hydro store.. mix it with your feed. 1-2ml/L

epsom salts will do also (1 tsp/gal) but they only are a quick fix, its not a good source of mag, but itll do. plus sensical has all the secondary minerals whereas epsom only has 1 and cal-mag plus only has 3...

Yea the mag deficiency started creeping up about 2 days before I noticed this, I gave the their first nute regimen that night, my usual solution of 1 tsp PBP Grow and 1 tsp CalMag/gal and pH'ed to 6.5 the night before this happened...... Any connection? P.S. its in Fox Farm Ocean Forest/ 30% perlite

So I've been keeping my eyes open, and all I've found is a little, harmless looking brown spider. No more damage since then though. Maybe it was a little deformation from the oncoming mag deficiency.
Doesn't matter anyway, because this morning I found some man-sacks. Good thing he had some lady friends in there.
Grow on all,
