Hi everyone,

I think you are chasing a ghost. A phenotype is a certain characteristic leaning towards the mother, or father plant, or inbetween. I have never heard of a cherry ak47 pheno. Infact, the entire line of pure ak genetics contains nothing of cherry in it, whether it be taste or color. I cant see any other reason to name it cherry ak, without it having a cherry color or smell/taste. It might be more of a passed around myth or exaggeration.

yes, you are right, but i'm not looking for the "cherry pheno" but for informations and that's not a ghost quest.

you forgot the environmental part and you are right..phenotype is the combination of many factors :D

I have never heard of a cherry ak47 pheno.
never heard about Cherry bomb? Sudden Impact? Black Russian ?

It might be more of a passed around myth or exaggeration.

I have heard and read many people discussing the "cherry" pheno. I have been growing Ak for a year and a half. Obviously, I don't have the Cherry pheno. AK has lots of red hairs that look quite cherry red when dried. I wish they smelled or tasted like cherry.

As i know the " cherry " pheno was a f2 selection of Dmans Russian ???? , so you wont find any cherry in Simon´s stuff ... , which will mostly display sandelwood aroma´s :smoke:

any AK history threads in the IC archives that anyone can recall??
I really like this strain.

stumbled across a co-op & have sampled the so called mango phenotype.. it actually did have a slight taste of mango rind on the exhale. did they make this pheno up?? not that it's related but it was also the best ak47 i've had to date,
anyway as far as cherry goes..

i'm not friends with these cats nor do i know them or endforse any claims of an super elusive phenotype, but there ak-47 is top notch stash.

now if i could just find some one with a male pheno
can't a female be turned into a male these days?

Here is a pic of my cherry ak47 pheno at 49 days flower. you'll know you have it after 3-4 weeks of 12/12 cause it will make your whole room stink like cherry cought drops, ludens or soemthing. Takes a while to finish and even when it does you can get a great cherry smell from the buds with a short cure, just doesnt taste like cherrys. More of a musky taste. 70 days to finish usually.

Lol, i just HAD to post a reply to this. There is most definately a "cherry" AK pheno, weather you want to believe it or not. Infact, it's probably the most prefered AK47 pheno as most ak47 growers will agree. What does AK not having cherry in it, have ANYTHING to do with what this phenotype can taste like? Infact, most strains that have "fruity" names (blueberry, blackberry, pinapple c99 pheno, strawberry cough) were created using strains that have nothing to do with any kind of fruit, that doesn't mean you can't have a pheno that tastes like that.

I believe Simon said himself that you can find a cherry pheno, you just need several packs to find it.

ALOT of strains have red/purpleish stems. It happens to most of my plants, as well as many others. Theres no way to know for sure if you have the cherry pheno until it's been in flowering for a little while.

You have a much better chace of getting a cherry pheno in the AK48 then the AK47
there are good things in Nirvana, but few and not in AK.(a serial crosser isn't a serious breeder ).. so i doubt you are right.
Do they use an AK male or skunk, NL or haze male as usually?
