A person I have known for a long time was arrested a few years ago with 33lbs. and over 10 guns all legal. He got 6 months work ferlo. He was ratted on by this guy. However my main concern is the guy that got 6 months work ferlo, I know 33lbs ain't much (it was Beaster/BC) Just wondering if a good lawyer can get you this kind of deal.

I am not sure that justhaving a good lawyer will get you that kind of deal. I don't know anymore about the story than what you told us, but it seems like your guy may have passed the buck on to the next guy(snitched), because I know my friend is sitting time for just 5lbs and no guns. Just my 2 cents man

yeah he snitched big time on someone huge to get a deal like that. It doesn't matter if the guns are legal or not. Possession of firearms while committing a felony usually adds years to a sentence. 33 freaking pounds would put you away for a long time with no "useful information" to give up.

Yea no way he got such a small sentence for that unless he gave up somebody else.. That's a line of bullshit he's a rat..

Lot depends on specifics....can't make an assumption unless those are known (I don't want to....you should before passing such a judgment......which in many circles would end ones life......)

Example:
I had a friend couple years ago get raided by local...besides what was on property he was carrying loaded pistol (in pocket, in house)...He and locals had some history....he did not have any firearms charges...

Btw......was 200 something plants.....No firearms charges and probation on the grow..(Eastern half of country)

Amount?
What is the overview?....who and what are they?............where did it happen, penalties?, what are his priors? (if any?)

Ask to see his docs....your curious, etc....(What your looking for is a "5K" motion.)

The 5K motion, (the section of federal sentencing guidelines), allows federal judges to give defendants a reduced sentence if prosecutors say they've provided "substantial assistance" to the government in an investigation.

(Someones answer to seeing docs usually tells the story :smoke: ....They "don't have any"......they "didn't get any" usually not a good sign (the latter a firm sign..)

I believe one could also do a manual search for court docs....(looking for "5K motions"..."Rule 35 motions"..."sentencing manuscripts" would reveal a lot, etc....)

I'd stay away from the guy. No real way for you to know for sure. No need to lable him as a snitch (since you don't really know), just stay away.

Yea alot does go on specifics.. But 6 mounths for 33 pounds an 10 guns?? Altho I had a friend who was tripping on mushrooms and took on basically a whole local police force haha... He fistfought with 8 local cops.. Actually ended up taking a knight stick away and using it sucessfully to attack at least 2 officers... He was maced, beaten, both his wrists were broken and they broke his jaw and 2 ribs.. He sat in a holding cell w/no medical treatment for almost 6 hours.. His attorney got everything dropped from state court all the down to municipal... Adventually he pled guilty to a misdomenor and used his conditional discharge haha. From the outside looking in that seems like he got off with nuthing... But the cops broke his jaw after he was handcuffed and a whole block of witnesses seen it.. Plus they denied him treatment and took some revenge on him at the station... So when you know that about the case it makes things more understandable.. Maby the prosecution or the arresting officers did something to jeoperdize there case.. Maby he pleaded guilty to a lesser sentence in exchange for not taking the case to trial.. Julian is right about the "specifics" of things..

Specifics could also include jurisdiction/regional issues....

Have been discussing recently Southern Arizona not prosecuting under 500lbs....(Updated ongoing story)

(but , again, that is not a cut and dry statement or issue.....fine print applies......)

(I think fine print was regarding priors, citizenship, firearms, etc, etc.....)

(Anyone from there/goes there would be wise to not rely on being sprung.....:smoke:)

Many factors always involved, each case sometimes drastically different....

(Another example of regional.....Pima, Cochise might spring you....but I wouldn't count on Sheriff Joe allowing someone to walk even for jaywalking :biglaugh:....:smoke:)
