What do you think is the best distance from bulbs for the beggining?

What is the distance I need to put my plants from CFL bulbs on the seedling stage if I want to do a scrog later on?
It won't be a problem if I put the plant 3 inches from the bulbs?
The temperature reach 28c degree if I do so,
But I told that I need to do so if I want to grow on a pc box.. I'm not sure what to do
What do you think?

i would say flat fluors would own any compact fluor because it give a "sky" of light not a "sun" so it stays smallers (more equal light)
i would put 2 cfl's NEXT to it, not above it (will grow and burn) so you have light on both sides

you want to get some max 2inches off, but cfl is hot so it can burn/dry out

5 inches from the bulbs is ok?

Hey ther, just stick the back of you hand under the bulbs, if it doesnt get too hot in a minute or so, then your plants are good at that distance. As close as possible without burning

Too close and your wide leaf types may become too compact:

I moved her lower to promote stretch, lost a few weeks waiting
to take cuttings.
