what do you guys used to press......

Hi crew.............................a general question for you all.what do you guys use to press your kif with?i've seen alot of press both hand powered and electric and was wonder what you guy's prefere and why?i'm not looking to make alot ifigure 4 or 5 grams of hash per harvest provided i have that much extra left after meeting mrs. one eyed jack's needs...............................

i just made myself a hash press last week at work but havent had time to take any pucs so il postsome in the new year wen i get back from switzerland...peace

I prefer to leave it unpressed. it is better for smoking, it's always ready for the next bowl.
the occaisional time i press, it's either with a piecemaker press, or the good ol' shoe method.... sole hash.

like trichomefarmer says the shoe method is easy and u get good results



use organic cellophane if u can get it

get ur kiff...make a bag with colophane....insert kif......wrap in wet news paper..put on a hotplate/pan on the stove on low...put a lid on it ....flip it a couple times...till the news papaer is almost dry....take off pan...place on hard surface....roll out with ...rolling pin....or wine bottle.....take off newspaper ...and continue to roll till u get the consistancy u want!!!! i use this method everytime.!!!

thank's fella's i appreciate all the input...............i'm kind of lazy so i think i'll be leaning towards the screw press type for now or at least til a gain a little more experiance pressing.............

if ur lazy id say the screw press is more effort, coz u would be pressing the hash in the shoe wioht the walking u would do anyway, whereas the screw press is a whole effort specifically for that, lol, its ok if u dont get me, im drunk again.

I also have a small jar of fresh loose kif

...but once I started to get a few jars full that I wasn't really smoking up...I pressed some up for long term storage

around 7 grams worth in the pic

I use a space case pollen press. It's ok for small disks but for the most part i just leave kief unpressed to top a bowl and fade away.

I use one of these. Whenever pressing any type of hash always make sure that it is bone dry before pressing it as you don't want to invite mold into your stash.

Hey Cheifsmokingbud, the Okeif tumbler link, Im getting me one of them in a coupkle o weeks. Have u got 1 then??? Im getting the Heavy duty one with steel screen, and buying another screen, 110, i think but that oneisnt steel. Very helpful as well, the guy I have been in contact with has bent over backwards to accomodate me in the uk. Great customer service, I cant wait., im saving all my trim up from next week onwards after ive done a BHO run.

i just cut a piece of parchment paper, put the kif in a corner of it, tie it off so that there is a ball of kif , and just squeeze it with my hand for a while till it shapes up into a ball...

that or press it between my steel grinder, and the floor.

wow thank's guys all gave awsome advice i have a question for 2 of you though maaddog gets question 1..........dude thats look like a c-clamp and some kind of container....care to share the what and how of your set up?2nd question for bramski dude thats a sweet ass press is that home made..if so are you willing to share the plan's for it if it's a bought machine what type who make's it how can i find it on the net and how much does that cost? thank's again you guy's really are somming through hope i can help you all out in t he same way some day......................

Harry, yes i do own one. I bought one of the first models back in august and okief actually posted one of my kief runs on their site. I have several drums including the stainless. I must say that stainless is sweet. They do have excellant customer service as you have mentioned.

bramski, i thought that press looked familiar and oldtimer gave excellant directions to build one.

one eyed jack, you can find a couple places on the web to purchase those and they are high dollar. The ones i have seen are around $300 and they are heavy to ship. You can build your own for much less. Personally i use the spacecase press which is good for small batches.

thank's mate good info and i'm not to worried about the money for a nice press can ya tell me the web sites i need to go to so i can get a closer look at it..................................the extra money for a quility is all good in my neck of the woods even poor quality hash commands top $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so the better the hash the more $$$$$$$$ me and that means i can grow bigger and better...................thanks to all you guy's are the bomb........................

its just a c-clamp and a little alum. metal sample container that fit the size of the press

I line the container and press part that touches with foil ...otherwise I would have to chip the pressed hash out of the container

just put my loose kif in and screw press as tight as I can...wait a couple minutes and screw it as much as possable...repeat

no heat or anything else

...a little will come off on the foil...so that gets smoked first

...I need to find/make a couple little metal disc that fit perfectly into my container...so I can do away with the foil lining
