What do I mix in the soil besides perlite and bat guano?

Hi all, I am lucky enough to live in was where we can cultivate legally. Last year I did a healthy size crop and mixed nutrients in a trash can every other day. I have a ton of friends who grow indoor and out andthey swear by the weed of the old days. Their argument is based on the fact that all you need is nnitrogen, phosphates and potassium. I have my Rainer soil is the pH of 6.3 so I am in the area where these old men grew. I used advanced nutrient grow a b than bloom for my base in veg and flower. I used silica blast and 20-20-20 until flower. I cut off the 20-20-20 and started a 5-50-17 for the rest of flower. I added in cal mag and used bud candy the entire flower cycle. I got great results but learned a ton of the songs. I did not add any perlite into my holes last year so how much per 5 gallon would you reccomend as a community. Also can I have the real deal addins like how much bat guano or how much lime or what is bone meal and how do I use what do you folks use to full fill the npk anyway let's do this

hello mitch,
from what i have readed about advanced nutrients is that they use heavymetals in their products - and imop thats just wrong to do.

there are so many ways to get the food the plants need - if you got a big compost pile just mix it in with the soil when you plant and when flowering comes you could use abit of pinewood ash or some other wood ash for the pk boost at that time :)
i got told that when using the ash it should be done carefull cause if used to much the soil gets sour.
hope it helps some how, to get the ideas going

read up on organiks or vganiks just on wiki and im sure you know what to do after that for a cheap year :)

have fun in the garden (Y)

im doing a few differnt things this year to test out what i like the best..i will be using maxi gro & bloom,dyna-gro foliage pro & bloom and a organic living soil grow. i want to see for my self what i would prefer so i dont have to read the bullshit. posted between organic growers and syntheic growers thats all over ever fourm u go on.i found on another fourm i had quite a good laugh at this one dude. he was posting how much healtier organic growing was for ppl and then u get to the end of the thread and there u have that big holy roller healthy guy mixing up tobacco with the weed to make a spliff. when called out on it how bad tobacco is his justification was that he only smokes the tobacco 1-2 times a week with the weed LOL, as for the mix this is how i mix up mine for drainage and aireation:

1 Part Sphagnum Peat Moss

2/3 Part Pumice

1/3 Part Perlite

do u have any proof of this from a lab tested? i dont use advanced nutrients but alot of the shit that is posted in canna fourms about advanced nutrients is fake bc of all the hater.everone that has used advanced never complains about the quailty they get. they are mostly sour bc of the price of the products.

here you go look abit around here and you will find that the most of their products contain heavy metals https://apps4.cdfa.ca.gov/FertilizerProducts/ is that proof enouth for you ?. you sure sound sour over my opinion why ?

i look at it like this what ever you give that plant is what you are gona smoke in the end (no mater how much you flush it) there will be stuff left

im not at all sour. i just like to have proof bc of all the baseless claims i have seen on these fourms thurout the years. im more worried about getting killed in a car wreck them i am of what i fert my plants with to be honest. evertime i put something in there it says no data recieved. is there a certain product from them that i should type in?

who talks about getting killed :comfort:
its a opinion to not support a company that is using stuff in their line that is bad for us. or that should not be consumed.

take it like this if you are a medical patient and need to consume raw plant juce as an exsample would you use a product that has heavy metals in it ? or would you rather use a vganic product that have literly 0 heavy metals in it.
the same is going down when you smoke it its just ending up another place in your body,

just select their name and go trugh some of them

-over 50% of their line got heavy metals in it :tiphat:

if this is about medical values why would ppl support a company that use bad stuff in their line `?
maybe im stupid or maybe im just logic

If you plan on growing in the same location year after year ditch the chem nutrients.

↑ Totally agree ↑ With guano's as your base fertilizer I would add

Main ingredients -

Worm Castings - Good stuff!
Kelp Meal - Healthy root system
Crab Meal - Pest resistance (Chitosan naturally occurring systematic pesticide)

Other goodies -

Rock Dust - Mineral/trace elements
Ectomycorrhizal Fungi (Mycorrhizae) - Beneficial fungi

I agree those are all great amendments to add, but I think beneficial fungi are quite possibly a waste of money if you are already growing outdoors in a healthy soil. The existing soil probably already has them.

I think one of the main points to being organic is that you can feed your plants without having to buy anything, or at least be mostly self sufficient. Or if you want, there are off the shelf products if you want to get up and running quickly.

It can take some time to get a good pile of compost going, established comfrey etc beds, sourcing cheap (or even free) local materials that can be useful, but if it means you don't have to pay and still achieve as good (if not better) results with what you are growing, then IMO it's a no brainer.

Search coots mix. Also read recycled organic living soil thread. Lots of useful info. Also recommend getting your soil tested befor you amend anything. Logan labs is good and costs only 25$ . Will pay great dividends in the end. Another great read is Michael alstera and his book . Soil minerals.com. Is all about balanced soil. Too much of one thing can throw off everything. You can always add more but it's hard to remove amendments. Best of luck

i got all those products this year to test out..i got lush roots and plant success soluble. im gonna be doing 3 different grows basically. im gonna be using maxigro/maxi bloom, veg+bloom dirty and organic living soil to test out what i will like the best. insect frass is another good source of chitosan that will bring out the trichs in the flower period. im also gonna get some chitosen for SAR and bud rot prevention. ive found 3 different ones that interest me. it says on the 3rd one that this is the ingrediant in bud factor x after doing some research i found that bud factor x is 33% chitosen. so anyone that wants to induce SAR and bring out more trichs can use a cheaper option. insect frass or the ones in the link whichever ppl prefer

I want to ask those that only do organic: do you test the soil. If yes and it shows that you are at the right pH and the n-p-k values are benefitial to your plants? To those of us that flush the plants (which flushes all the metals you people speak of) what slow release chemicals are you adding. I am going to mix perlite, crab meal in what else should I use that man created?

kelp, alfalfa and neem meal is 3 other things that is organic that will be very beneficial to your plants. i dont think u have to flush if u are doing a all organic grow..or thats at least the way it was explained to me. i bought living soil already mixed and precharged for a full season of growing with water only
