Best I can come up with is a NEMA L9-20. (Rated 600V 20A max)
I have some concerns regarding your 500V Specification. Was that measured reading with a good bulb? What is the measured output with no bulb. (blown)
I am no trying to be a smart-arse.. I really don't know.

Along those lines...I wish I could find a higher voltage rating connector for ya..but I have been unable to thus far.
Perhaps some of the self-declared "electricians" on this forum can help us out here?
Note: I am not an electrician. :spank:

When I think of lamp cord, I think thin speaker wire around 18 gauge. Nowhere near enough to handle a 1K bulb.

I'd say 14 gauge at least. Try Home Depot for a 10-20 ft extension cord and cut it in half.

Hi stay puft, freezer boy

sorry, yea HID lamp cord, 1000w specifically

hydrofarm and sunlight use 600v rated #16. for their ballast to lamp connects.
i was prob gonna use #14 rated for 600v.

quote from another thread " 1000 watt bulbs need a spike of @ 5000 volts to ignite. The capacitor then maintains a voltage of @ 500 to 600 volts constant. "

seen this a couple of other places as well.

in case anyone is interested....

I talk to a hydroshop owner who assured me that using those nema 120v 15a plugs on the lampside was totally safe. If I have any problems with them once I setup I'll return and let everyone know.
