well from what they wanted to sell me at the hydro store it would be cool - 6500k ..... the store wants 20 bucks a pop for these 42 watt bulbs . now at the local home depot they have 42 watt bulbs for 10 bucks a pop . problem is that they say they are 2600 lumens .im thinking that these are "warm" . so i dont know if they will work for vegging and keeping a momma . also is lumens and the "k" specified on the package the same thing?

I believe k is spectrum.....lumens is brightness.....But I may be wrong.

I bought a compact fluro at the local electrical/plumbing store....100w for $10. They are out there, just gotta look for them.

As the man said.......

Lumens is a measure of the amount of light emitted or the bulbs brightness.

K - stands for Degrees Kelvin which is the Color Temperature of the bulb, or where in the light spectrum it's emitted light falls.

Lights of America makes several 42w CFL's that are shown as 200w Equilivants. They work well for both veg, and to augment flower lighting. You can usually find them in discount stores like Walmart for under 10 bucks each.

Here's a link to the manufacturers website so you can see them.

Also, check out the link in my signature to see how I use them.

warm white or soft white is 3000K,cool white is 4100K and daylight is 6500K in reality you can veg fine with all three. The best thing to do is mix them
