What causes this..?

What causes the leaves to feel very dry and brittle?..I've been combating a nitrogen or overwatering problem but it looks like nothin is happenin except more yellow and dry leaves..Help!

could be overwatering. you're ph is probably off, too.
Need more info tho. age, soil, nutes, etc etc.

Yup you killed her with fert burn, bud. Plants need no food for the first two weeks.

Hot soil with hot nutes and bam, she is crispy and dead.

Next time use soil with no nutes in it to start seeds, no nutes for first 2 weeks, and go half strength with the gro after that until she gets bigger.

I only fed her 1/4 strength and that was was becuz she looked like she was having a nitrogen problem..The leaves were yellowing and gettin spotty at the tip well before I fed her. The first time I fed was about halfway thru the 2nd week..I have a bagseed germinating now so hopefully ill get better results..even tho I dunno if its a she or a he

The Ocean Forest is too hot for seedlings. There is fert in that soil and it is too strong for seedlings. This is common knowledge if you search around here and read some threads. Burnt tip means fert burn. Then you misinterpreted and added more fert, sealing their fate. 1/4 strength is 1/4 too much when the soil is already burning them, and as you saw, it wasn't lack of fert that was the problem or they would have recovered. Put your bagseed in soil with no fert added. You can use peat pellets, seedling starter soil, coco, hell you could start em in perlite. NO FERTS FOR FIRST 2 WEEKS.

When you are in doubt, do nothing. Then flush with plain ph 6.8 water. Classic noob mistake to add more ferts when you don't know what the problem is.

If you had some pix I could almost for sure tell you exactly what the problem was.

What is the ph of the runoff water? If you are using one of those soil probes, forgetaboutit. They suck. A digi pen is the best option and ph is crucial to growing success. If you don't learn and master proper ph, you will never get a good crop.

My first attempt at a grow I used Organic Potting mix and the plant looked the same now as it did then when I added nothing...You think I should juz go back to that soil to start w/then transplant into the FFOF? Im also thinkin about startin in a lil bigger pot so they have more room to grow. I can't buy one of those pH pens right now cuz of the cost.. I don't have a pic but if you look at at LAWATTs thread on here his leaf looked identical to mine..on the 2nd page..
