I wouldn't stay in the Jordaan unless your gonna bike around. As its pretty far from all the stuff "Coffeeshops". There is a few in the Jordaan but not as top as near the centrum. I stay near Rembrandtplien everytime i go. Not loud at night like the RLD but near stuff still. I get a apartment so to save on food and drink. Good Luck Jubei

Yes you can its easy. Alot of hotels have apartments and are available to view on the web. I use Eden Hotels as i have always gotten great service and never had anything stolen. I usually rent a apartment for 10-12 days so i can get 2 weekends in there cuz Paradiso and some other clubs are just too much fun. Hope to see you there. Jubei

Well....... If you are from Ca where people never walk (Nobody walks in LA a song once told me) then stay away from Jordaan.....

BUT......

If you want to be in a local type area, Jordaan is FINE!!

I stay in an apartment on Lijnbaansgracht canal! Brandand Zend (Sorry I KNOW that spelling is WRONG) is 2 minutes away....
The closest Albert Heijn is 4 minutes away and if its closed the one in Dam square is 6 minutes away!
Dam Square is 6 minutes away, and from there everything is central!

Its no red light district BUT can this happen in the red light district??

I was looking out the window, smoking some sage when a crew of guys were working on a boat! They were hot and hassled so I asked them if they wanted something to drink... 1 coke and 2 waters..... after giving it to them, who should walk down the canal but their good friend, Adam from A'dam... A few minutes later Im sitting on the boat sharing Sage Bubblehash! Then (a few months later) comes the conspiracy cup and these guys are the "Sensi Seeds Boat" taking people from Melkweg to the red light district!

There's just something about being where PEOPLE live... for me at least!!

Soooooo.......

A Loooong drawn out way to say.... DONT RULE OUT JORDAAN if 1)You got good legs and don't mind walking or 2)You dont mind getting strippenkarts!

Peace
http://www.canalapartments.com/ has some apartments that you can rent for as little as 3 days!!(not to expensive either...w/weekly rates too)... Avoid the katzengrat apartments, they are owned by the Rennasaince hotel and are EXPENSIVE!

Jah Bless

try www.hotels.nl for good deals on hotels if you book in advance

Something to remember if you are from the states...when I used to stay at hotels I ALWAYS used it.... BUT....with the dollar sucking as badly as it does the fact that they quote in euro's does alter things slightly.... So before you book just check some us sites 1st, to be sure.....

But... when the dollar stops stinking, it can't be beat! Jah Bless!

Thanks everyone for the info.

I think I'm gonna rent an apartment. It seems like the best way to have some privacy and enough room for some friends to swing by.
