modifying some fishing rigs for the trout. they are mostly 4 ft from bottom and 4 ft from water surface according to my kayak fishfinder.... adjust or no catchy trout....lol... tying 4 lb line is getting hard for me to see...

the best walleye are caught in shallow water trolling Rapala floating lures, my eyes went to hell long ago and so never mind trying to tie lures on @ night as I sit in my 14' dinghy, flashlight in teeth.

I've tied 4 foot Spider Wire kevlar leaders onto every lure in my Rapala box, now @ night under pressure to switch baits fast it's only a swivel that I need to manipulate.

done the walleye and sauger sp? leeches and rapalas along with worm blowers and minnows..... with the clear and low water here only 2 4 6 lb fluorocarbon line has kept em biting. a habit I got from flats fishing the keys for bonefish and such. and tiny ass hooks. my hemostats always were for fly/bait/trout fishing too. it aint easy sinching up the knot on a hook you can barely see anymore. without the locking stats I would hook myself more than fish.

I use to Fish over 30 yrs ago and did so for about 5-6 yrs apart from the local canals here in the uk I use to fish this one place mainly for mirror carp and leather carp also pike and my mate had a "pit" made from an old WW2 bomb drop full of Tench (Beautiful fish)
Use to use Spinners/plugs (lures) and a wire trace for the Pike connected to the line via a Swivel.Suprissed to hear they are still used today tbh! BET their Kevlar or something like now though.Use to be metal things :)

having argument with fish and wildlife over their fuckup. my online purchases of permits never showed up. sent them email and the bitch must of changed my info. sent them 3 more emails got response. I had to print out form and mail or scan and send back after filling out... then again wait 2 weeks.... fuck em I am gonna fish and hunt anyhow... my info is online and can be checked by any game warden, but not having permit, liscense in hand can cause issues if the guy is a asshole..

Too cold to chase trout today, high of 13F. Guides on my rod would freeze with every cast. Right now I'm growing my winter beard, listening to Govt. Mule and heading to the basement to get nice...........I'll float back up the stairs.

I don't fish for carp as they are bony an hard to eat ... the Asians seem to know how tho. I heard smoking em and slitting em finely and deepfrying em are the ways to go... the hmong sp? peeps here seem to love em, wish I could talk their language and find out how they are utilizing em. nice peeps tho . very vocal... wire still used for the toothy fish. I have spider wire and the rod and reel designed for it. don't work well for trout. works great for heavily weeded areas and bass.

I did the carp as a kid married in pa on the allegh river right out my back door on my dock. some huge fish,... doughballs, tough fish ,decent fight , no eaty lol...... at the time the web wasn't an option and keep/ catching em without knowing how to eat a few made me loose interest.i am now again below the curb , have the I net, and willing to learn..... got access to a smoker and carp... yeehaw..FWIW the only fish I just like to battle are mainly salt water.... sailfish, some grouper species, marlin, bonefish, permit, and a small few others.... all other can become dinner lol^^^^^^^^edit hey man winter here is lame barely any snow= horrible spring=horrible for wild trout. fishing in the lake is like fishing in a barrel. this place depends on snow from the mountains
