Ok so I've been seeing these lil yellow things in the crease of my fan leaves here and there and if I touch em them move and come to life!!!! I took some close ups and I'm guessing white flies??? Whatever they are will they kill my plants? I've found them here and there for quite a while now but I haven't been losing plants at all just want to know what they are and what to do about them thanks...

These look very similar to yours but they are specifically called six-spotted thrips.

Well if you wanna get rid of the borg I think that predatory mites are the way to go. So I've heard.

Better to get rid of all those bugs!

^ If the bugs are really thrips, this will tell you that they DO eat plants. Although they are beneficial to getting rid of other bugs, you're also still putting your plants at risk.

Here's a useful website for identifying a few pesky critters.

Okay, here is some info on Predatory Mites.
I think this is your best choice if you wanna get rid of these thrips.
http://www.nysaes.cornell.edu/ent/biocontrol/predators/mitintro.html

Here's an excerpt:
"Some species of predatory mites, particularly Phytoseiulus, are among the few biological control agents that will eat all their prey and starve if they cannot locate new colonies of spider mites." This means that the Phytoseiulus will eat themselves once they are finished eating other bugs.

Well if you use thrips you will still need to use predatory mites to get rid of the thrips :) Unless you want to use chemicals or something.
I know LolaGal has released predatory mites into her grow because of borg infestation.

Ok so they keep the mites away but feed on my flowers is that what they were saying in those links cuz I looked over them and I'm still not sure HOW BAD these particular guys are and I have stuff I can use in early flower but last time I did on my outdoor crop to kill mites it fried my fan leaves!!!

I have this stuff which says it's for thrips and mites and a bunch of other shit too I had success with the bottle that's just for mildew but this shit fried my gals so should I dilute it 50% with water? Think it will still kill em if I do that?

Those are thrips on your plants. They are very damaging to your plants as they rasp away the chlorophyll layer of your leaves to get at the sweet plant sap. Soap spray will kill them, but you have to hit the bugs with the spray for it to be effective. A better alternative is Monterey Garden Insect Spray which is also OMRI listed. The active ingredient is spinosad. It will kill the thrips dead, and your plants will not be burned as can sometimes happen when using soap spray.

Youv'e got Thrips, and your'e plants will suffer untill they are gone.

I've done battle w/ them twice, and this is what worked for me: Hot Shots No Pest Strips.

They were gone in under a week both times.

Good Luck.

I've got these little bastards too, they are western flower thrips. They slowly suck the life out of your leaves, and poop everywhere letting in disease to your plants. Spinosad will destroy them.

SPINOSAD

Is the most effective at killing thrips.
Is the safest thing to spray on your plants, ORMI listed.
Works very fast.
