What are the best AF's? I'm stuck in the 80's

S

I have been growing the from the same genetics I bought from the original Seed Bank way back in the 80's. With inbreeding I now have a very stable strain that is done like clockwork around September 14th and am very happy with it. It's genes come from Durban Poison, Northern Lights#5 and Skunk #1. However, after a little reading on here I am curious about the AF's available today.

I am a little leery of AF's because of the ruderalis genetics in them and I have always viewed ruderalis as having shit genetics. However, since I don't plan on inbreeding any AF's I may decide to get I don't have to worry about polluting my seed stock with their genetics.

Can any of you experienced with AF's give me any advice on good strains, comments on the bag appeal and potency of the product? Bag appeal and potency are a top priority as I am not really looking for the yield so much with these; I get all that with my own strain.

Any and all comments will be much appreciated!

I ordered a 10 pack of ** auto ak47 and got 5 free short stuff#1 seeds. I got 10 females and 3 males and pollinated everytihng. I've been growing out my short stuff#1xauto ak47 seeds and i've already harvested and cured 4 plants and the smoke is killer. the buds are covered in trichs and the smoke is real earhty tasting. I was at first skeptical about autoflower thc production, but now i'm amazed. The buds have great smell, taste, and bag appeal. Before i got these autoflower seeds i was paying $50 an 1/8 every day or two. Now i'm harvesting a plant every couple weeks, yielding from 22-30 grams of beautiful buds under 23 watt cfls. I would highly recommend auto ak47 and short stuff#1. Although i know lowlife's auto hindu kush produces dense thc covered nugs and has awesome bag appeal, the joint doctors lowryder#2 has great bag appeal and everybody says the smoke is awesome. In my opinion if you order autoflower seeds anything from **,**, mdanzig, the joint doctor, except their lowryder#1 will most likely be awesome smoke with good bag appeal and good trichome coverage.

hey stealthy....after a few years of trial and error I (and lots of people I know go with EasyRyder from the joint doctor.....this strain has been around the longest and never disappoints.I currently have Easyryder,Poison dwarf by G-13 labs and, Double Diesel ryder by Sagarmantha,The easyryders are by far the easiest, fastest growing, most yeilding and tastiest of most AF's.It is very stable and a lot of the newer AF's are made using Easyryders genetics.Hope this helped.Any other questions I will be glad to help out :)

Lowryder and lowryder 2 are the most stable to breed with, they are farther along in generation than alot of other AF's right now. Lowryder has pretty low potency and is closer to ruderalis than most AF's.

The farther from lowryder the cross is (back crossed to the mother strain) the more potent it will be.

Still kind of the wild west as far as AF is concerned, lots of work going on, lots of shit product beeing sold. Stick with breeders you can find info on, and grows of said product.

Check in the AF buyers guide you can get a good feel for who is selling the quality, http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=129303.

Currently growing DieselRyder and EasyRyder. If smell isn't an issue I gotta tell you the DR's smell like a knockout... and they are under 4 weeks old :smokeit:

I'm thinking about MDANZIGS Sour 60 for a little outdoor run. Reading about it the other day, it sounds pretty damn good. I have an outdoor spot that has burning sun from late May thru mid-August. The Sour 60 may be the thing. I have been on a campaign to drag myself out of the 80's as well....Enjoy it ya'll, growin's the most fun a smoker can have....:smokeit:

Thanks for the info! I really need the bag appeal and potency for this to be worth my while.

Thanks for the link. I guess I was too lazy to look around a bit...lol

Easyryder - I'm taking a note of it. The Durban Dwarf sounds interesting too; I have always loved Durban Poison and its growing charactoristics. Thanks.

Thanks for the insight. I don't want to waste my time putting out a few hundred plants that I can't market. I'm just looking for a way to spread my harvest out and thought AF's would be perfect if I can get the same quality. I keep hearing people talk about Lowryder and now you say the potency is low and that has me concerned. It looks like this season is going to end up be one big experiment. Thanks for the link!

Yes please update when you have firsthand knowledge and compare it to regular kind bud for me.

So the AK and Lowryder are the yeilders. Made a note of that. Thanks!

Get me a smoke report when you're done. Compare it to other dank you've smoked; I need potency!

Been doing it for 25 years for fun and profit! :smokeit:

no harm in being stuck in the 80s!

You are so right! But there is much good to be had by me getting up to speed on the new genetics available now days. :smokeit:
