What about oscilating fan noise?

I hear people complain about their noisy inline fans but in my case it seems that my oscilating fans make more noise so I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for my problem or maybe a brand name to go for because I like my shit stealth,
thx

IMO all you can do to oscilating fans to quieten them is take the grills or guard off-that will reduce noise a little-but carries obvious risks

I just set my 12" cheap oc fan on a piece of 3" foam & it's invizable. Sometimes they just need to be cleaned-up & greased & they'll quiet right down. Maintain your equipment & it will love you.

Problem I've had with oscillating fans is vibration which can be corrected with something like Old Yeller said. Seems it's the vibration with equipment that penetrates walls and causes problems. I've had the same issue with air pumps and coil ballasts. I almost always run inline fans hung from bungee cords.
