Wet soil

Hi, I'm a noob grower with a LR#2 seedling in a 4l pot. It's day 9 of the grow. The soil is a mix of soiless, potting soil and perlite.I have 2 42watt cfl's going now and a 150 watt hps for when it starts to flower.I planted the germed seed right into the 4l container.Problem is ,the soil hasn't really dried out yet after 9 days. I have a small fan directed at the container from the side, hoping this will help to dry it out sooner.I'm using a wardrobe and the temps are 71-77 degrees F. What can i do to dry out the soil? I'm afraid the seedling will not be able to grow because of wet roots.

first, don't grow lowryder strains, they suck.
next, start seed in a smaller container like a dixie cup, where you can monitor the soil better than a huge pot and will dry out faster. hence your problem.
dry out soil?
put in room with a low RH (relative humidity) what is yours in the closet/wardrobe,,,

9 days and still not drying out :frown: What is your humidity in the cab???

Do you have an exhaust fan?

Without having more information....... I would work on getting some of that circulated air OUTSIDE of the cab, which would help in bringing down your humidity levels. Typically you should have dry soil (depending on pot size and plant size) within 2-3 days.

I hope that helps???

Do you have access to a dehumidifier or a larger fan? Next time when u transplant into bigger containers, or use bigger containers when the roots are not developed, just water around the base of the plant the first few times. Then after the roots have had time to spread out, water the whole thing.

My RH is 47%.I do have an exhaust fan, it's 100 cfm.But i havent been using it so I'll put it on and I will put on the dehumidifier too.I didn't even think of that but that should help alot.I'll definatley take your advice next time, thekingofNY.Thank you all.

Bad experience?

I love LR#2, especially for noobs. They certainly won't win any prizes for yield or potency, but the ones I've experienced are very hearty, hard to kill, and they sex, flower and finish as-advertised (fast!).
