Aloha,

Here are some pics I took today of one of my Hawaiian Indica ladies moments before chop.

Just imagine a sweet (almost too sweet like overripe pineapple), tropical mango/pineapple/lilikoi/pomolo mix of every think that made Indica the king back in the early eighties.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a sativa fan, but if the flavor is there, Indica's early finish, fast dry and popcorn nugs always bring a smile to my Volcano.

Green,

These are my own 4 year effort.

I started with 30-year-stable Hawaiian Indica and crossed her with a robust Afghaan Dream to re-juice her Landrace Indica and got this Beauty. (Genetics for the Cup if discreetly asked)

Outdoors in Hawaii is the only way to finish

Outdoors in Hawaii is the only way to finish

Outdoors for all flowering.

What's really weird and cool about growing in paradise is the year-long grow cycles.

I start my girls off inside under 18/6 then put em outside to finish.
Some lucky girls get a full life outside from the start though.

The flowering will occur even in the peak of Summer, with 13 1/2 hour days and only with 10 1/2 hour nights.

That myth about 12 hours plus a night to flower just doesn't hold true for Paradise.

And its not just my Hawaiian landrace strains either. Soma gave me some of his best Amnesia Haze and NYCD in a trade a few years back and that shit flowered outside in the middle of short-night Summer!

I find that my plants flowered inside just are less vigorous and less potent and less flavorful (but, like pizza, still pretty good) so I have the luxury of being able to safely and legally grow outdoors in my backyard. I have a recent thread in the Toker's Den you may want to peruse.

hey is it true that most plants will only grow for like 50-60 days from seed to harvest? How are the yields, i would imagine maybe a half ounce per plant out there

That's Why I Veg Indoors

That's Why I Veg Indoors

The plants can be small if limited light outdoors in Veg and then flowering after the eigth node.

Indoors under dual spectrum with only six hours night seems to allow them to get big enough for some decent yields.

The yield is really more dependent on the strain.

My Indica will flower itself after 45 days no matter what (auto flower strain), so it's max yield if all goes well is two-two 1/2 ounces.

My Tricot Sativa flowers late and since it has 50% more branches than all other weed, it has produced five ounces.

Hazes in Hawaii produce the biggest sweetest Haze nugs and colas I have ever seen or smoked. Check out my Hawaii Diesel thread

Looks very nice HG! How tall are those plants? They look to be very short. I would have thought that with your sun they would be BIG indicas. Best of luck at the cup.

Just the bottom quarter

Just the bottom quarter

Yeah, this was just the bottom quarter of the plant.

If a plant doesn't finish top to bottom, leave the bottom for a week and it will be better for harvest. I didn't have my camera for the full plant shot last week, but I can post another of my Big Indica in a moment after I step out and shoot her.
