weird plants

alright so i have a plant that i fimmed and it grew big and tall and i have a plant that went from seed to flower with a single top. Both plants have been flower for 6 weeks and the one straight from seed (only about 8 inches tall) has trich's all over it and is started to make some nice bud.
The bigger plant, almost 20 inches has TONS of white hairs some are even starting to turn amber.
MY problem is why is only the little plant full of trich's?
Also i only took a clone of the larger plant and would like one of the smaller plant, how should i go about doing this. there is almost no way to cut a clone with take 1 (of the 2) shoots. Reveg maybe?

reveg the plant you want to keep...harvest the plant accept the bottom few popcorn buds give veg strength nutrients and put on 24 hr light...the taller plant could be a longer flowering plant that will put on trichs later in flower or it could just be trash...peace

Are they the same genetics? If they aren't that's the reason. Not everything gets frosty from the first week of flower, not everything springs hairs in the first week.. You got weeks ahead of you, no rush..

the smaller plant definetly has better genetics for what im looking for. the only problem with reveg is that 6 weeks into flowerign the plant is covered in trichs and buds but no more than 8-9 inches tall. im amazed but there are very few leaves to be able to cut and reveg. any thoughts?

you don't cut anything from the plant you reveg when you reveg.

Simply, when the plant is ready to harvest, harvest everything but 1 or 2 small of the lower branches. So, you keep the plant, not a cutting.

Hope i didn't misunderstand you r question

the problem is that there arent really any small branches. its a 9 inch topped plant with very few bottom nodes and i dont see how 2 possibly 3 sets of leaves could support a plant. (becuase i would be sacrificing a small yield in order to do this)
