weird branching

Whats goin on everyone? Alright so i have my first grow going and im about 2 weeks into the flowering stage and things are looking good, ive got two AK-47 plants which are poking there hairs out more and more everyday. I noticed something weird on my one plant in the past week, which i origionally thought was some male parts meaning it hermed a bit. But i let it go cuz it really didn't look like a male part, so it was actually another branch extending out but it wasn't at the normal place where a new node should apear (see diagram, not my plant)

on the next set of branches up there are 2 branches extending in that same spot and one on the opposite side. Is this normal or heard of before, whats goin on?

It's female and looks normal to me. I don't really see anything out of the ordinary, but I am very stoned right now. Looks healthy from the piece I can see. Good luck!

Im not 100% sure but what you might be seeing is this...

When the plant is in veg and often the start of flowering, the plants nodes are opposite....

However normally just after flowering has started the nodes change to alternating....

they are no longer opposite on the same node....

shes growing up....

YOu could also have a screwed up growth pattern..... time will tell...

I know about alternating nodes but this is different. And thats NOT my plant, just a picture to demonstrate the location of im talking about. Where the arrow is pointing on that plant, MY plant has growth nodes appearing. like inbetween those spike things. I mean im not really worried about it, as long as its not a hermie... lol but its just really strange and ive never seen anything like it before, ill take pictures when i can. I was just wondering if anyone had seen or heard of this happening before.

Ive had some mutated plants that have what I call the broccoli effect....

the branches are all webbed and merged.....

its not a pretty sight.... its not usually a happy ending...

Classic example of stoners in this thread! hah

More branches equal more bud sites! Growing is a learning process. Keep the plant going and see what it ends up like and then share your findings..

Growing is a science!
