WEEN and other types of "brown" music

S

Space Ghost

this thread is for those who love ween and brown music in general.

Ween is so eclectic and grand I don't see how anyone couldn't like at least a few songs.

Ween haters are welcome too, if there are any... :spank:

let's keep this thread civil though.

Piss Up A Rope is my fave. Trying to work a cover of it into one of our late night sets.

piss up a rope is a true classic, but my fave off that album would have to be "fluffy"

also, thanks for kicking off the thread

Yeah, that whole record rawks. It's just that's my vocal range, and I really want to look out at a crowd of drunk people and scream "On your knees you big-booty-bitch! Start suckin'!" :biglaugh:

Got to see them in Vegas a few years ago outdoors...top notch...especially on brownies. Haven't done anything like that since.

Who else you got in mind as far as "brown" sound?

well, other groups they have done collaborations with such as "The Boredoms" and some others that I can't remember right now...?

but piss up a rope would be a great song to cover "you can wash my balls with a warm wet rag, till my balls feel soft and smooth like silk" lol...

Piss up a rope is a great song. I also love Japanese Cowboy. That song always makes me laugh.

I have seen Ween a few times in Chicago and they were kickass live!

Don't know anything about the boredoms.

Not to compare bands or anything, but in the same vein as being eclectic and a real treat of a live show, I've seen Flaming Lips a few times. Way different bands, but they evoke similar feelings in me of..."Oh Joy! Not the same old rock band playing reheated songs!"

yeah, i can see how the ecleticity(I doubt that's a word...) of the fl's lends them to be a little weenish

I'm sick of your mouth and your two percent milk!

I've got The Live Brain Wedgie on Vinyl, still trying to find some of their early tapes. Ween rocks

WTF is brown music. Shitty music? Lil wayne fits in the category.

I am not sure what brown music is. I don't think that it is possible to put Ween into any class of music. They are just Ween. I will add that I have been to many a show in my day. Many a Ween show, as well. IMHO, Ween consistently puts out the greatest shows.

I will add that I hate The Flaming Lips. I always hear them compared to Ween. I don't understand why. Subjective, but I find The FLs boring as shit.

It has something to do with homosexuals or poop. Im not sure but i dont really care.

Keep it secret, i don't give 2 shits.

it has nothing to do with sexual orientation or "feces" - it's a state of being - listen to enough ween and you will understand...

Take a piece of tinsel and put it on the tree
Cut a slab of melon and pretend that you still love me

Brown music?...a state of mind?...you've got me.

Would Pavement be described as 'Brown' music?

And to the person who said Flaming Lips are "boring as shit"; I'm coming around to your place to shit in your pants.

So I was driving in the mountains a couple weeks ago with this new chick. We were going hiking and she brought her iPod. It was a great day and to top it off, we rediscovered the sheer auditory joy that is chocolate and cheese. How cool is a chick with Ween on her iPod?!! :D
