Week 6, continues to yellow!

I am growing Serious Seeds' Chronic in a homemade DWC with 2 airstones under a 400W HPS light that was 16"/40 cm away from the tops of my plants (I moved the light to 8"/20 cm 3 days ago). I was feeding the plants 45mL/gallon of PBP Bloom and 15mL/gallon of CalMag until 2 weeks ago and changed nute levels, because the plants were yellowing and browning badly. I flushed with plain water for 2-3 days and changed nutes to 15 mL/gallon of PBP Bloom and 5 mL/gallon of CalMag. I fed them with this regimen for 3 days and then upped the nutes to 30mL/gallon of PBP Bloom and 10mL/gallon of CalMag, which I have been feeding them for the last week.

Temps are 80-90F during the day, 60-70F during the night, 30% RH at all times. I have a 265 CFM fan ventilating the C13 where I am growing.

I am using tap water, which is 5.5-6 pH after adding the nutes and they are at 650 ppm with nutes added.

I top off nutes every 3-4 days and totally change nutes once a week, btw.

That goddman discoloration is still there and it's not getting any better. I want to fix this!

I am at the end of week 6 and I will be harvesting at the end of week 8 (that's in 2 weeks for all you Borats out there...heh).

Now, I am in a conundrum: should I up the nutes of PBP Bloom to 45 mL/gallon, or keep it the same? Or, should I go with some high P-K additive like Liquid Karma (if I did this, I would use 30 mL/gallon of PBP Bloom)?

Or, should I just start flushing now with straight tap water for the next 2 weeks?

Trichromes are 80% clear, 20% cloudy, no amber.

Below are some pics. Before you ask: Yes, I know I have a male; I am producing seeds.

dont the plants stop producing thc after they are pollinated? woudont that mean yoru plants dont get more potent? id ratehr get some pollen and save it in the freezer than put it on at the end

It looks like you are over feeding. Your plants look to have nute burn. 15ml per gal of PB should do what you want. I think 45ml is over the top.

Yeah, your burning them with the 45ml/gal mix. I run PBP at around 15ml with 5ml calmag...

I can't really tell for sure from the pics, but it looks like you've got PM or spider mites - might wanna double check for that...

:yeahthats

I suggested 13 ml pbp bloom and 5 ml cal mag plus 2 weeks ago. Stop using so much ferts. Sandman came up with his suggestion through experience. I based mine on 4:2:1 potassium to calcium to magnesium and a minimum of 30 p. Interestingly, we both got about the same rate. :canabis:

If the plant has stopped growing you may just want to harvest now as you will likely not recover fully from the whatever that is. You are close to harvest and have a reasonable amount of cloudy trichomes. If you harvest now that is that much sooner you can get the next one you know and it's not like you will find a magic cure that reverses the damage in such a short time. Looks like something that has been happening for a couple weeks you know so it's unlikely to be resolved at this point.

I can't see how uping the nutes would help at this point. The clean water flush sounds like the best plant I guess. Keep an eye on them, but you'll probably be lucky if they grow anymore past this point since they are stressed and near the end of their life cycle.

Maybe try a bio tub for superior results to DWC next time. Very similar grow styles, but DWC is a very dated growing style and has many disadvantages over bio grows... such as not having to flush.. ever. That usually means healthier plants, better yield, less stress and less time and expenses on nutrients and ph adjusting and such. Nimby ran his bio tub without meters, but he was a fairly experienced grower. I've done DWC with only a chemical test kit.. oddly enough it was one of my best DWC yields 20+ from like 3 plants but mostly from one... after I got down battling pythium (root rot) for a month it was at least.

If I ran DWC again I would take the effort to use frozen 2 liters to cool the rez. After all the work you put into these projects something like throwing a couple frozen 2 liters in there everday is enough to make ALL the difference in the world for water temps and very little work. It's just kind of annoying to have to do it everyday, but its FAR more annoying to battle pythium everyday for a month until your roots grow back :p

Um Liquid karma is not high in anything it's a bio-catalyst. Rather than containing macro nurients like NPK it is mostly just a bunch of organic gunk that helps setup ideal conditions in your soil or hydro. Adding LK to your rez will only have a minor effect on PPM's and your nutrient value.

Its rated at .1 .1 .5 notice the decimal points. It's P rating is 1/10 of 1 point. Maybe you just meant to say another product. During bloom might be best to go lite on the calmag .. if you need it at all. If you run tap water it may already have most of the calcium and magnesium you need and Calmag has nitrogen which can be bad during bloom. In fact that could be nitrogen toxicity I suppose. I don't know that I've ever really seen it though beside in pics.

well I will agree with the others that you seem to be feeding too much.

And your roots are rotting...
