Weed and the university

I'm a freshman at a university in Indiana. The school kicks people out for any drug conviction. School still has that new feel to it and I'm kind of in awe at some of the shit people are getting away with. There are dealers throwing nonstop parties at their apartments, kids hitting pieces behind the dorms, and plenty of partying. At the same time police are getting people for possession almost daily. While the parties are fun, I feel sketched out about the people, the place, and in a way what we are all doing.

College is another one of those crossroads in life where people can reinvent themselves. With so many people becoming the person they have always wanted to be, I'm curious to see the result.

Thanks for taking the time to read through my rambling, but this thread isn't all about me! Feel free to share your university related stories, advice, or whatever. This subject had been on my mind for a while and I wanted to get it out there.

as far as i know most if not all universities have this drug rule. It doesn't stop anyone from smoking or slinging a few small bags and thinking they are 50 cent.

Some schools are very lax on the issue of ganja. Some are not. my advice lay low and wait for others to mess up and don't do what they did. Don't smoke on campus if you don't have to. Don't know if your in the dorms i always lived off campus, way better. Don't take risks you don't need to.

Check out webehigh.com and see if they have your town there. Alot of smoker reports on LEO and the likes that could help.

Hey arpnuke hows it going, I'm a college student myself.

I think people tend to be reckless more and more so, especially with the freedom from thier parents that college comes with, until something bad happens. Everyone needs a 'reality check' at some point, some people just haven't had thiers yet.

On the other hand, some people are just not very bright (like those dealers throwing constant parties at thier spot).

I'm fortunate enough to live in the great white north where you get a $120 ticket if caught smoking on campus. Infact, the campus security encourage people to just smoke off campus because if your caught there, generally you just lose what you were smoking. Back when I lived in the dorms, there were people who dealt out of thier rooms, and I didn't hesitate to smoke in mine. 2 years later, and I' not sure I would do the same if given the same situation. I'm a lot more cautious now and have more respect for my safety and keeping my education. I'm not sure what caused this change.. perhaps maturity.

Thats really a bad policy, however, try to look at the positive side of it.

If by chance you were to get kicked-out then you would be free to go to a real University in a much warmer climate.

hell at my school you can get kicked out of the rez halls if they even catch you with alcohol! they find weed and youd be on probation if not kicked out. sucks but i dont live on campus so who cares.

I suggest you buy a lock box or a safe of some sort for your marijuana. One of my friends goes to JMU and his dealer ended up having his room raided by the cops on campus. The cops took everything he had, but it was all inside of a safe. He ended up getting off because they took the evidence from the scene. Since it was locked up they had no way of knowing what was in it. This is how it was told to me, I don't know the exact extent of the law but I would do it anyways just to be on the safe side. And you can keep that suspicious roomie out of your stuff hehe.

Haha Lemon, Canada sounds like a great place for toking. I went up to Nova Scotia and did the national park thing. Very beautiful country out there.


I think the smart play is to be very careful about smoking up here. Guess I'll have to get my vape repaired. That reminds me, Crush made the thread about reasonably priced vaporizers. The heating element on my hot box burned out after 6 months of use. Granted, I left it on accidentally for ~10 hours or so several times Be sure to turn yours off before you hit the sack. Hot Box Vapors backed up their warranty and agreed to repair it without me having to find my proof of purchase papers. Bag vapes sound much better for groups, but it's hard to beat whip vapes priced at $100-200.

They have a "drug" rule at my school. They also have an alcohol rule...

First offense, minor in possession of alcohol, $50 fine, parents notified, mandatory one alcohol class
Second offense, $75 fine, parents notified, parents notified, mandatory one alcohol class

First offense, possession of narcotics, automatic suspension for the rest of the current semester and the following semester.
Second offense, immediate expulsion.

It's all pretty lame.

I used to smoke everyday in my doors.. no more than 4 or 5 hits at a time, and absolutely no opening the door 30 or less mins after your session.
