Weatherstip flammable???

I am currently setting up my 1000w hps hydrofarm daystar air cooled system. The tempered glass that comes with the hood also comes with a piece of weatherstrip for it. The piece of weatherstrip is only about 3 inches from the bulb. Is this ok or is it a fire hazzard? Thanks

If you use a fan, why else would you get the lite anyway? lol You will have no problem, great hood by the way superior cooling!

I only have one of these "new" ones so far, great air circulation though. I hope to switch out the others in time. I use a 465 cfm Dayton on each 1k but with the new hood its so much cooler. "If I was a rich man"... I would use Elicents or Hurricanes better fans but for now Daytons will do.

Thanks bad. That was helpful. Do I have to close off both sides of the hood or can I just run and exhaust from one side out of the room and keep the socket, wire side open?

If you set up like that you will exhaust "room" air which will have "odor laden" molecules and you might not want that! if you go from clean intake outside air "through" the lite back outside that will prevent it. For exhaust systems use a carbon scrubber or ozone generator etc in the line.

Hey bro yeah its cool to use that weather stripping on your reflector..its to seal the glass safety lens to the reflector so you get better cooling...i got one with my hydro farm reflector they all come with some..just so you know it goes around the very out side edge of the glass shield..

take care
