weak stems?

hey, im on my first grow with soil and nft. my soil grow is going great but ive got a problem with the hydro. i vegged the plants for ages until they got to about 25 inches and then put them on 12/12. ever since then the secondary growth is very weak, some of them growing sideways and all wobbly instead of up. could there be a reason for this? ive had a fan on them, they just seem real weak. the worst tho is a mutant, mayb its the genetics. any help wud be very much appreciated. thankyou

K and N makes the steams bigger. Maybe you should try to add them. I cant see the plants, so I cant really say for sure. And be gentle with the airflow on them. It is better that is on top of them..

Tic

ok thanks tic, im switching to bloom nutes in 2 days so hopefully there strengthen up. been feeding advanced nutrients.

how wud i do that, im sorry im on my first grow. i thought it was n.p.k so nitrogen, pottasium, phosphurus. im not sure if thats correct cus ive never realy looked up on it, i thought these nutrients were meant to supply the lot. thanks for helping me out tic, its appreciated. so how exactly can i add more k? and which is k? i thought it was phosphurus, and bloom had more of that. excuse me if this is all totally backward and dumb. :)

Pinch the stems until you feel the inner part sort of snap. I also "pinch and roll" them between my fingers on a few strains I'm growing....weak stems suck, but I love supercropping :D.

Without pics its hard to envision the problem as you describe. If plants are tall w/thin or weak stems going into flowering, I just support them w/a stick. You can use the plastic rod on the blinds as a support. Once a couple of wks into flowering you'll see those stems to thicken real quick.
This reply is assuming there are no other problems, which it does not sound like any. I just put a few BOG's medley into flowering, they were quite tall, which I think accounts for them looking wobbly, leanin to the side.....after a couple of days in 12/12 they are standing upright, lookin nice and firm. I'll take some pics tonight for you.
Again, pics really help to id a problem.
Hope this helps.
Success w/ya grow.

Sorry AJ, I missed the hydro part and assumed you were referring to a soil plant. Didn't mean to confuse you, if I did.
Hope ya solve this problem.

What's your temp?

Remember, you only have 15 degrees MAX between daytime high and nightime low. Without CO2 daytime high should be no more than 85, with 78 being perfect. So if you had 78(F) daytime high (right before the lights go out) subtract 15 degrees and the nightime low should be not less than 63 F.

After that what pH is the nutrients? Too high or too low and it doesn't matter how good they are they are not available.

The last thing is, beginners kill their plants with kindness, they over water and over feed.

For your small plants fertilize weekly, weakly.

well thanks for all the replys!! i cant over water them as there in hydro, that wud b pretty much impossible :) u mayb on to sumin with the temp tho. it has been pretty cold here lately, bloody english summer!! anyway, temps are between 75f and 64f there or thereabouts. it can rise to 80f even 83f on a hot day. mayb its to cold for em. my vegging plants are sat in 19c atm, im not sure wat that converts to but i think it mayb a little cold? i cud also try the snapping thang but im not sure if that wud b the best idea at the start of flowering? thanks again

whoa just checked and thats 66.2f!! jeez i better do sumin about that, altho theres nuthin wrong with them and all my l8est plants hav turnt fems, all 8 of em, theres sumin to say about colder temps and sexing, its damn true alright
