watts per square foot ????

ok heres the age old question .. how many is enough ?? im thinking of upping the square footage of my garden but that would bring my watts sqf to 60 from the planned 70 .. when i used to grow . i always liked more watts ,,, but is it worth it ??

If you're going to end up at 60 watts a square foot, I think it would certainly be worth it.

the colisumes are about 60 wpsqf and i get good buds from it...

as of a comparson i cant give u one cuz im allway changing system's nute ect..

i have seen very low wattage room yeild good to
i would not worry unless your under 40

It sounds like 60 would be plenty. The money for upgrades would probably be better spent elsewhere.

Being a small cab grower, a few years ago I ran an experiment with 2 2x2 grow cabs side by side, 2 plants each cab, same strain, same nutes, same dirt, only differance was one had a 400 hps 100 wpsft and 1 had a 250 hps 62 wpsf. the 400 plants harvested 1 oz more per plant that the 250. pretty impressive to me how much more the 400 produced

Were they clones? Thats alot of diff in yield, but also alot more light aswell. What was exact yield from both rooms.

no they were seeds,a AK47XChronic cross. the 400 plants yeilded about 3.5 per plant if I remember correctly. The whole grow was documented on another site, but has since been deleted. To this day I grow with 100 watts per sq ft except I now have a 2x4 grow cab with 2 400 hps bulbs.
Heres some harvest pics from my last grow that was documented here. 4 plants and just under 15 oz dried, plus all the bottom bud and trim I made into hash.

I mainly run 60 watts per square foot. I've tried 100 watts per square foot and noticed a different in yield, but mainly a tighter bud formation. I've even ran 40 watts per square foot. I'll have to say 50 is enough, but i guess you could get by with about 40 watts.

I run 75 watts per foot in the flower room. I have 2 - 600w hps over a 3x3 e&f table in a 4x4 room.

i agree ....... but yours is all so double the light ( o most ) in this case we are talking less then 10 watts per sqfoot to your 40.

that would be a 1/4 of what u gained? witch = 1/2 oz ....

know could..........he pull that 1/2 or more if he where to add say 5 plants that would only be a 1/4 oz each????

thanks all ,, what a turn out ,,,,,,,,,,well hmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,,, i think 60 would be all right .. i want to run a 600 (air cooled) in a box that is 2' 6" x 4' = 10 sqft / 600 = 60 wsqft . i would like to be able to have about 4 - 6 nice plants in there . maybe some nice sour d ... hmmmm maybe i should build it 3' x 4 ' .. 12 sq ft .... 50 wsqft ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

heres a dif view the closet is 2' x 6' but im growing in half


& a room that is 6 x 5 ( plant covrage ) per 4 bucket's is 3 feet
there's 8 x 6 = 48 buckets
