watering with runoff....

Is it ok to water with the runoff water, when i water, i get alot of runoff probably 40% maybe more and it seems like such a waste to throw it out so sometimes i pour it into the next plant....will this hurt them?

Nope, I wouldnt think so unless the run off's pH is way off so ya may wanna check it prior to dumping in the next plant.

not too sure but i think when u water u get rid of any salt build up , and u r just putting it back when re using the water

Don't do it. m@rg is correct, all the nasties get flushed from the soil with the runoff, why put it into the next plant.

Also if your getting alot of runoff, are you watering nice and slow? That will help saturate the soil fully and keep runoff to a min.

wen u get run off theres lots of beneficial mico organisms but u get toxins as well. its not worth it, yr best getting rid of the toxins imo.

If your nute mix is correct, it's not a problem. Hydro growers use runoff all the time. Hell, I haven't even changed my res (I just top it off) or flushed any plants in around 5 months and they're happy as hell.

What the hell are these "toxins" ya'll are referring to? Sure there's left over nutes in it, but again if you're adding back the correct nutes it's not a problem. Just watch your PPMs/EC and you'll know what they need.

toxins from microbs in soil, the dirty f*****s shit in my soil YAK! dont know bout in other systems.

i've used run off to water with, i collect it then put som zym in it over night then use it the da after.

i agree with POP - (except I think you should get it down to zero run off)

I think you are overwatering - try watering less (so your pots dry out quicker) and then you can water more often - daily works well - then you will have no run off to have a problem with - and your plants will thank you

i think ill give it a miss for a while now anyway after suffering some ph probs among other things, good to know other were doing it too....
