watering with ice water pre-harvest?

Been hearing that for the last couple of, or very last feeding (DTW) if you water with ice water supposedly you get an explosion of trichome production.
Is their any truth to this? Anyone ever tried it?

Not BS call from me
I run a 3 or 4" drywall screw through the base about a week or 2 before harvest
The stress triggers extra reproduction is my belief

What's really happening is they put on the frost at the very end the last week is crucial to let them finish. It doesn't matter what strain just let them ripen peace sdd

I call it BS. I would be down for a side by side, but I'm too chicken shit to subject one of my plants to that kind of stress without verification that it'll actually do something positive

I do a naked dance with sacred canada goose feathers and tobacco smudge. The exploding trichomes literally cover my body with thc which I scrape off to make hash.

Never tried the ice water thing so I can't say if it has any truth to it or not. But one way to help create more resin and improve overall health is by using Chitosan, it works kinda how the ice water is supposed to work by making your plant think that it's under attack/shock which then causes a S.A.R {systemic acquired resistance} effect.

Also remember the level of*THC*production of a marijuana plant is defined by their genetics, you can not increase your level beyond the breaking point, however, maximum production is rarely achieved; then it is possible to stimulate the plant to reach its optimal level of production. The goal is to increase resin production in the plant, which will increase the total amount of*THC.

it would certainly stress the plant. the plants reaction to that? no clue. personally, i have never known plant stress to be favorable to vigorous and healthy growth. i have heard that leaf color changes as a result of low temps. give it a shot and let us know.

I say save the ice cubes for your drink, when you are done watering your plants...

The cold water will most likely lock out your P, K, and probably some micros as well

Just what exactly is shocking the roots going to do the complex chemistry required to create additional trichomes?

They don't grow in a few minutes.......ffs

To my thinking in a dynamic where the biological goal is reproduction, the threat of cycle's end accelerates that already happening outflow of sticky resins, evolutionarilly design to trap male pollen from the air and happening to also have yummy chemicals in it. Not changing the chemistry but giving an extra burst maybe to the effort to reproduce before finishing the cycle of life.

I have considered the reasoning of vegetarians and vegans, but never have I worried that an alfalfa sprout was screaming as it entered my mouth...

I love my plants and it is a signal to them from me that the end is upon us, the same as the frosts that come then too

I don't think putting a drywall screw the base of a plant is cruel... I think it is counter productive..
Stress isn't good for people, plants or animals.. At least imho.
But perhaps I'm wrong... Although some how I doubt it,

The biological imperative is reproduction
the signal that the cycle is ending seems to trigger a response
Im hoping there is a side by side done and this fall I might...

Arent indoor plants technically always stressed out? I know mine suffer enough without me messing with them on purpose. Ask Cocosativas about his friend.....its funny i bet he chimes in about it.
