Watering scrog style ?

Hey guys, I've decided to go indoors this year as the weather was unkind for this seasons growing season in NZ :( I've just bought a 4'x4'x6' grow tent(unfortunately no idea if its got the pvc gassing problems or not - its a growlush tent) Be using a 400w light from a previous grow few years ago with new bulb.

I've done LST before and understand the concept of scrogging but just need a few questions answered from you experienced people :)

Whats a good height for the screen to be placed at?

How do you easily water all the plants when the screens filled? do you use a tray that feeds them all?

Was planning on doing 4 plants in 33litre pots but think this could be overkill? might be better off doing 8 plants in 15litre pots maybe more?

Did a search but couldn't find any results regarding easiest way of watering?
Sorry if you guys get asked these questions all the time.

Thanks!

Hey Dobo, Im not an experienced scrog grower but ill give you my input. I heard the normal height for the net is about 1 foot over the pots. If you have a plant that likes to stretch maybe a little higher. Watering is a problem and is one of the reasons I don't really enjoy doing it anymore. You can get a hose system going where you can get those back ones. Also you could go under. Most people that do scrog trim the bottom part of the plants and then you have some room to hand water. Someone else should help soon and give you a little more info that what I got. Good luck with your grow.

Screen height is arbitrary. Some place it directly on top of the pot, some high enough for grown men to sit under. The higher the screen the more veg required. More veg=more yield. Note that in small cabs this can be a BAD thing. If you do raise the screen, make sure there's room for you to reach all the way to the rear. Moving ScrOG plants is a pain.

I'm in a DWC. I water with a exterior water pump and tubing. A small water pump lives in the tub for draining. For Soil, I'd imagine a long neck funnel would be used.

With enough time, larger pots mean larger roots mean larger yields. Whether that's good or bad, depends on your garden.

I have quite a small setup, so I have put my screen at about 8 inches above my DWC-container. I can fit my hands under there quite easily to tweak the branches.

Thanks for replys guys, I'll put some pics up soon once the plants start to re-veg, I'll look into a dwc setup next grow! Seems like its best way to go with scrog due to limited space for watering. How many plants size pots works best in small 4x4 area? Thanks freezer boy for scrog links, liked ezra's "Hog" grow idea!

With DWC, think about a moving shelf such as The AMAZING NGB Cab Water is about 8 lbs a gallon. My tub averages 10-12 gal or nearly 100 lbs. Trying to drag it in and out would tear it apart. Yes you can use smaller tubs but, smaller tubs are harder to maintain and, when badness happens, go bad MUCH faster.

for a 4x4 I'd start at 4 plants, maybe 8 if they're Indicas going straight to 12/12.
