watering question

if i started watering my plants before I turn off lights but I didn't get to finish with one plant. I got half way with it when lights went out(i have a timer.) can i continue in morning? and another question, I have left over water with nutrients in it, can I save it for the next day? i plan to cover it

Try to water in the morning from now on. Watering just before dark could lead to mold or other problems later on.

Water with nutrients won't go bad in one day. You can use it the next day.

I mix my nutes every saturday, the company says I could go as long as two weeks.

As to time of day when watering. Mornings have been like breakfast since 2002 and were always within an hour of lights coming on.

I am six months into a new routine of first water six hours after light come on, then again when they go out. The first six months have had no issues and will to continue for another six. I run most changes for one to two years to get a good feel for the effects. I am on the second year of Far Red supplements and am still determining how it affects the plants.

The humidity is between 10 and 40 the majority of the time, mold appeared once in 2007 when the budroom was sealed at night and humidity reached 99% every lights out.

With that in mind I never miss the night's watering even if it has to be done in the dark. No rigorous testing on this, but it rains more in the afternoon than morning in interior Alaska so for now I am going with it.

An assumption of synthetic media is taken, here it is rockwool croutons which drain very fast. Other media will hold water for various amounts of time. This also makes a large difference in routines.

finish the started watering when ever you can, but yes, watering just after or before lights on is best. just don't splash the leaves with water if you are doing it with the lights on.

made up nutrient solution can be kept a week to 10 days easy, just adjust the ph again just before you use it. if you are even using a ph meter that is.
