Let say scenario 1: 12"x12" hole. How much?

Scenario 2: 36"x18" hole. How much?

Placement? clump in the bottom of the hole or evenly mixed throughout?

I mix evenly through the soil .

Can't give you a crystal to soil ratio without seeing , feeling , and digging your spot .
Too many will push a plant right out of the ground , but i generally use a fist full in a 36x18 hole .

Hope this was helpful .

Maybe someone who keeps more scientific style notes can give you a better answer on ratio .
I have developed a 'feel' for different grounds , same as you will over time .

DD thanks! I did some testing/playing with this stuff... I can definitely see how it could push a plant out! expands prob 100x its dry size.

I would have prob gone more than a handful. thanks for saving me
