Anyone made any "water hash"? Where you just put in dry leaf and let the trichomes fall to the bottom, then strain off the top and filter the trichomes and let dry?
you mean ice hash? jar+weed+ ice+water, then shake . repeat a couple of times then strain thru coffee filter... put in freezer.. after like an hour slowly soak up the water with a napkin or something.. then dry with hair dryer.. ive done it a couple times.it was the first time i tried to make an extract.it was ok.this was before i knew what kind bud was..
I've done it a few times myself and i have to say im converted, its one definitly cool way of accesing only the trichome heads. more purity makes for a nicer meltier final product.
Yeah, "ice hash" as you call it. We always called it water hash around here though.
Back in the day I used to save up shake from sacks of shwag and midgrade in a jar until it was half full. Then put in a couple ice cubes and filled with water and put a lid on then shook it up. You let it settle, and the trichomes would fall to the bottom. Then you'd spoon out the shake and let it settle again. After that you'd just siphon it down to about the last inch of water and then swirl it all around and pour through a coffee filter.
After that you'd just split open the coffee filter and scrape off as much as you could, then let it dry.
We never knew about heating/melting it into a chunk of hash though, we just used to sprinkle trich's inside blunts and joints. Probably would have been a lot better if we were hip to pressing it. But back then I didn't even know they were called "trichomes", hell we just called em "crystals" haha.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone here had made any hash with that method, and if it was worth a fuck compared to bubble hash, and honey oil, or even iso oil.
