Want to completely rid my room of spores/mites/etc

So I moved into a new house where another person was already growing. He tore down all his shit and left me with nothing but black mold all over the walls and a basement filled with spider mite problems.

So what we did was tore down all the black moldy drywall and used a regular old bug bomb thinking this would fix the problem....nope. The veg room still is having issues with mites and the flower room is having slight PM issues.

We are 2 weeks from harvest and have decided once these current plants are harvested to completely tear down the all dry wall that originally had no or very little mold on it and to just get rid of anything that could potentially have mold spores still inside.

I am here to ask: what would be the best fogger products to set off once we have:

1. torn down all the dry wall and reinstalled with new drywall
2. thoroughly bleached every single nook and cranny

I have heard of several products that contain pyrethrum can anyone suggest on which the best brand is (I have seen things like dr doom, and just a white can called pyrethrum). AFAIK pyrethrum is used to kill mites and other pests, but NOT used to kill powdery mildew or any other type of mold spores. What type of fogger should I use to kill PM spores.

I want to make the room completely clean and just want to fog the shit out of everything downstairs.

Once all of this is done I will first be putting up clear painters plastic over all the walls, bleach that - and then finally put up panda plastic and bleach that as well. After that, I will be putting a pond liner on the ground.

After this, in order to avoid any further problems I will be using neem oil/eagle 20 in the veg room no matter what before they are sent to the bloom room. The bloom room will house a sulphur burner.

I am mainly thinking out loud here, and asking for specific products on foggers for linguring PM spores and for any remaining spider mite eggs.

Any other suggestions on anything mentioned above or any other tips and tricks to keep these problems out would be much appreciated.

I always sanitize with bleach between grows but I have a couple cases of Sani Guard foggers in my Prep supplies and have been fogging between every two grows. It is primarily a germ killer but does kill some molds.
I have absolutely no mold problems. Never had bug problems so I cant help you on that front. Perhaps hanging a few No Pest strips for a few days will kill any bugs you have left hanging around.

i'd hit the room w a sprayer full of physan 20... u can actually breathe in the room w working w it... douse it at the kill rate... will take care of the spore issues.

run the room dry for 2 weeks (no plants)... nothing will be living but the spiders that get in. nps works with multiples like ahab suggested.

Thanks for the respons Ahab. As you said it's primarily a germ killer but does kill some molds makes me wonder if that specific product your mentioned is the BEST option for me, you know? But I'll take a look further into its active ingredients.

I also would like a little clarification on how to go about getting rid of the mites on my medium sized veg plants in the veg room. exactly 5 days ago I dipped all of them into a 5 gallon bucket of a "Safer" and water mix. AFAIK Safer Soap product does not kill the eggs so I think im going to first dip all the plants in some fresh water to get the residue off and reapply.

After taking a browse in the spider mite sticky thread, it seems like people are setting of pyrethrum foggers such as dr doom WITH their plants in the same room. Should I go ahead and do this too?

Personally I would feel better treating the plants and the grow space individually. You are two weeks from harvest anyhow. Let the present grow run it's course and then do what you feel is necessary to sterilize the space before you start again.
If you have any environmental issues such as excessive humidity in your grow rooms you need to address that before you do anything else.

I was mainly talking about the veg plants I have a decent amount of them and I just completed giving them the 2nd Safer treatment and prior to doing so they seemed pretty darn clean of any mites or eggs. I am just worried that there may be a might or a few eggs hanging around on the walls of the veg room or something you know? So I want to fog/bleach the shit out of them.

Saying that, I dont think the plants will be needing another treatment. But in 2 weeks all the walls are going down as described above and will be spraying everything with bleach and physan 20 and a final fogging of Sani Guard. All the veg plants will be out of these room when this is done.

Once this is done I will dip vegged plants in neem oil, apply eagle 20 and send them off into the new virgin veg room.

Humidity has been under 65 in both the veg and flower room at all times. I will probably get a dehumidifier for the flower room next round to get RH in the 50% range.

Hopefully that will be the last of my troubles :D

Thanks all!

Simply shut down your grow for 2 weeks. If you have some littles on the way up make sure they are as far away from your room as possible. Clean you room up with your cleaner of choice and wait. No need to spray chemicals in your house.

Aye, Physan 20 and strong isopropyl (advised by my surgeon for sterilizing as well, anything that can handle the contact, etc).

That mold fogging thing looks to be a good thing to have on hand, since the problems may be persistent.

LSDMT,
You can beat Spider Mites with Safer's Soap if you dip them every 36 hours, 4 times. Dipping the plants gives 100% coverage and washes off mites and eggs. Be sure to spray sides and bottom of containers, floor and walls. Someone on ICMag claims to keep Mites away by adding 1 tsp/gal Azamax or Azatrol to water/nute mix each month. I've been doing that for about 5 months and this is the longest I've gone without mites returning. This is a 1/6 dose of Azadiractin [active ingredient extracted from Neem]. No effect on taste/smell to us, but mites are repelled by it. I think.

What I would do is spray everything with Azamax as above, dip in soap 3 times, 36 hours apart, and 4th dip with Azamax.

Sounds like you have a humidity problem. You need a good dehumidifyer. I fear that you'll have to get control of the humidity before you can get control of the mold. Good luck. -granger

If your looking for a great "trick" to clean fresh cuttings here it is:

Add two tablespoons of bleach to 1/2 gal of water. Fill up zip lock bag with it, add cuts. Wait half hour. Rinse well with plain water. Everything Dead. Eggs and all.

This method is tried and true. Mites are easy to get rid of...Thrips are a motherfucker. This will work on both. Assuming you have a clean room to put your new cuts in.

Peace
Rocky

PS - Make sure cuts are fully submerged in the bleach water.

WHen in veg, I use Floramite at 3mL per gallon. If you can dip the plants, do so. If not, you need to get a pump sprayer. They sell 2 gallon ones at Walmart. It will take two gallons to fully cover 12 plants. You need to spray every single branch. Every node, every leaf top and bottom. Lots of people are lazy when spraying and wonder why mites come back. Floramite kills eggs. It is the only product I know that works every single time. DO NOT ever use in flower.

I'm building a new grow room. What are some good preventative methods to avoid mites and other insects from the get go? Going to be 100% hydro w/ no soil. I plan on thoroughly washing everything before bringing it into the room. Caulked every seam after framing, taped up vapor barrier from top to bottom, caulked and foamed exterior, currently mudding all drywall top to bottom. The entrance will be tarp with zipper.
