Want Some Help! Building vs Buying a Grow Tent

I read through the "For All the New Outdoor Growers" guide and it didn't really seem to address the pros and cons of building vs. buying a grow tent.

The pros seem to be cheaper, but I want my time to mean something. haha. I'm not sure I have enough time to get it all built and set up myself.

Obviously buying is more expensive, but in the long run is it better? Will I have less maintenance, weather problems, etc.? After doing some research, I'm thinking about buying a grow tent from WeatherPort.

I would love some suggestions or recommendations.

Thanks and happy growing!

Build... Get it done cheaper for fraction of price before other even ships. Unless you plan on tearing it apart and reassembling at some point then buy tent.
Easiest way prob panda plastic and two by fours, but lots of options. Heck I've e even used foam insulation board as walls and lined with Mylar.

ive done both for 4x4 tents and DEFINATELY BUY A TENT, hands down no question in my mind, the tents they make now (apollo) are really solid and well build, i think i built my 4x4 with 2''x2''s and panda plastic and it was a disaster after one harvest, panda plastic falling, light leaks, trust me and unless you are confident you can build one for cheaper than go ahead, i spent ~$70 on materials to build it, and bought a tent and set it up in 15mins for $120, professionally made, heavy duty, REUSABLE, portable, STEALTHY (cant be cutting wood and shit in an apartment) 3 year warranty, customer service, all things that easily = the extra $ imo

really a no brainer ime

Soooo this is interesting.

Depends on your time, skill and money.

I don't have time to build shit. I have the skills but I have the money I could afford a tent.

Tents are light (i can move it with it full of plants and gear in it)
Can be taken up and down, washed, setup in 5 mins solo, have the holes cut with socks to seal smell. They are sealed.

Builds are sturdier but offer no other benefit other than lower cost and you can tailor it to your space.

If you treat a tent well it will last forever and provide many benefits including saving a day (or two if you are less skilled) of work. They are totally ready to go, reflective on the inside. Easy to disguise. I won't build boxes again unless I build a breed facility

Gorilla tents are worth every cent. Their features are unmatched. You can hang yourself inside one and monkey around like monkey bars. I've done it and I'm 200 pounds. 100 under the rated capacity.

Tents are perpose designed. Unless you are a contractor like me or at least into building shit as a hobby buy a tent you will love it.

I used to fill rooms. I'm using a tent at the moment but going back to filling rooms. Now the 4x4 will be for making seeds yahoo!

Another vote for build!

Because it is way more silent then a growtent and depending on the size it will cost way less. Plus you can adapt the size to your personal needs and the space available and g(r)o(w) from there....

they both have their advantages...that said,,, buy a quality one ....yeehaw...my first 2 tents killed my plants so I built one...by the time you factor in costs ..I used reflectix and black plastic/panda and time you are about the same or more than buying

Building ftw. If you gotta get a tent, gorilla is the only one worth buying. All others I've used either come with or develop pinhole light leaks, rip easily, the frame bends easily,
and the zippers fail. Building a tent is dirt cheap. Get the discount wood at home depot for like 20 bucks total which they will cut to your specs for free, some screws and a power drill. Mylar or orca is the only real expense, and when you move it's all you need to take with you. Wood I always leave behind and pick up more for the new spot.
