Dear NotSure,

The legislative session ended today - and with it the hopes of short term relief for thousands of sick and suffering patients throughout Florida. The House of Representatives decided to simply quit work, three days before the end of session, and with that, medical marijuana legislation is dead in Tallahassee.

The same people who stood up against Amendment 2 last year, many stating that this was an issue better handled by legislature - simply turned their backs on patients, and ignored the will of nearly 3.4 million voters. Despite courageous leadership from Senators and Representatives in both houses and both parties, Tallahassee has failed us again.

Clearly - the only way this is going to get fixed is through a constitutional amendment and our new petition.

This campaign effectively relaunches today. Medical marijuana will be on the ballot in 2016 and the voters will pass what the legislature failed to.

which prompted me to find this.

to which i say thank you. now i don't have to fear some slipshod "medical marijuana" bill being passed by these crooked fucks for their buddies. now we can get a legal amendment that says it's legal like colorado. :tiphat:

Fingers Crossed for My Florida Buddies

I'm from the sunshine state and though I've been living in Cali for years, a lot of my buddies still live back in Florida and I feel for them (usually around election time). I mean, Colorado and Oregon are setting some great examples. It kind of makes me embarrassed about Cali - I love it here but I thought we'd lead on legalization. Anyway, I'm really hoping 2016 finds Florida turning things around. It's always tough to call but it seems a lot of the country is really waking up from this prohibition period.
