vortex fans

hey all,

as i am sure some of you can sympathize, i have benn having some heat issues this summer.

i am considering upgrading my fan (old 265 dayton) to an inline @400cfm.

this would allow better vent, and a carbon scrubber, as i don tthink the old dayton could handel a scrubber.

i was just wondering if anyone could suggest an economical fan which would suit my needs, or any vendors that are trustworthy/helpful/prompt/cheap.

thanks IC,

Keep it green.

Have 3 brands of inlines, Elicient and Vortex are two of them. I think the Elicient is a bit quieter and both perform as rated.

Buy a bigger inline, go 6 or even 8. Growing is addicting, the smoke isn't, and YOU WILL go bigger and that piddly fan will be an investment sitting in a corner. Trust me, it cost me big time upgrading to higher capacity units...........what a waste.

Happy Growing

Peace

I liked the output of my vortex but it was louder than expected.

Tell me about it...I run a 12" vortex that sounded like a jet engine until I started running r-12 insulated duct...now not too bad but you still know it's running. I also run a 4" and 2 6" that aren't too loud...of course my only other inline fan comparison is the Hurricane which sounds like it has a handfull of sand spinning around in it. :headbange

get a panasonic whisperline dude...way quieter than any vortex and cheaper

click the link in my sig

I appreciate the suggestion but the 12" vortex moves 1140cfm and can be had on ebay for about $300 with shipping...I just need to move more air than those can handle.

yeaup

found that 449 cfm 6 in for under 200, pretty good.

next question, would a 449 cfm fan provide air to two 200 CF spaces?>

as in one fan pullin from two cabs through a scrubber? hm, just by reading my own question i think i am gonna hear ' go for the 8 inch', Ty-stik has a goood point.

ic yall rawk

keep it green.
