vortex fan and can filter question

I have a 4" Vortex fan and was planning on attaching the can 2600 filter to the intake side. I believe the fan says its rated at 172CFM and the filter says its max is 50CFM. Once the two are attached, will the fans CFM drop to around what the filter calls for...or is the fan overkill? Im about to order the filter so im not sure.

My cab measures 2feet wide, 3feet tall, and 1 1/2 foot deep.

Im planning on using 2x 5" louvered vents for passive intake.

You can cover half of the fan intake. Or if you have enough run on the ducting you can include a couple of 90 degree turns between the fan and the filter. If need be you can reverse the white pre-filter to go from push to pull of the air flow, the rating will not change on u.

well the filter would be in the cab getting air sucked through it, connected to the intake side. So your saying i can switch he pre-filter inside out so that I can attach it to the exhaust side of the fan?

Filter can be before or after the fan but, I think what he's sayin is, a shitload of restrictions will lower cfm. They can also increase cab heat.

I don't know that your fan will do 50 without a speed control. Vortexes are very aptly named. The 2600 was designed for axials and little squirrel cages. The fan won't break the filter, just use it twice as fast.

Im not concerned about how fast the filter gets used up, if anything i can just fill it with fresh carbon and make a prefilter if needed. I just want to make sure that it will take care of the smell
