Viewing internet history?

Hey folks

Just a quick question.

Is there any way to view an old page (5 or so days) that i was viewing but is now removed??

My history tool only goes back 3 days.

Dont think that one will work but...

Thing is i bought a dodgy car advertised as a turbo on autotrader.com.au but on later inspection didnt have one (yes i am a dumbass when it comes to cars) and want to get hold of the lost ad to see if i can sue them for false advertising...

I will try to contact the autotrader folks directly.

Check your temporary internet files. If it cached the page you were viewing, you should be able to pull that page up, exactly as it was shown when you were viewing it. do a search for "temp" on your computer. May take a while, but you might find that it's worth it.

I have tried the search option but my doggy cant find its bone...

Do you know where the temp files are stored?

google cache...go to google type in your website, look under the link 'cache'..if it has that option then you should be able to view...I remember when we used to be able to look at the overgrow forum even after it went down..people were scrambling to get that information...would have been great to have saved all the threads and form them into a book ....

Open up Explorer [ not internet ] and right click on your hard drive, select search.

Select search by criteria and select " When was it modified " then put in the date range you know when you were surfing that page on and it should return all the temp internet files [ and anything else ] for those days.
