Well, they didnt double in size but they grew maybe 25% and added 2-3 nodes for a total of about 10-11.

The usual suspects, :) 4 boys. Look at the one on the right. He's definitely the John Holmes of the bunch! The pic to the right shows how slender the leaves are becoming! :) :)

picture.php

A shot of the girls. 4 columnar and 2 branching phenos, one each symetrical and asymetrical. The two on the right are the branched ones.

picture.php
picture.php

The two branching girls. The symetrical one looks like she'd make a wonderful christmas tree had she been outdoors.

picture.php

Some swollen bracts. Looks like I'll be getting some good sized seeds out of these girls! :)

The plan is to allow the boys to stay in here untill the girls have a decent but not huge amount of flowers showing then remove them. I want the seeds to have room to grow without to much competition between themselves. A previous run of some Lebanese showed a large variance of seed size and every one of the early pollenated bracts had huge seeds. :)

As an aside, I have inadvertently pollenated a Tempo Norte clone I had flowering in there. I was expecting the VBxThai to be a bit slower flowering and figured I might get a few immature seeds out of the T. Norte. Well, she's at about 6-7 wks, so I guess she's gonna be REAL stoney when I take her! hahaha!!! It's all good though, I dropped a fresh clone in there a day ago so I can take that one nice and early. I'm hopin to get a real heady, speedy, electric high from her. She's one of twenty from a previous run and the only one which was WAY more potent than the parent stock from Astur Jaya. What she gained in strength she lost in clear headedness however, hence my desire to see what'll happen if she's taken early. ;)

Check the resin on the popcorn bud. :) The rest of it looks like that but I couldn't get a good capture of it. :(

For some background info she's suspossedly from Lesotho and bred by Astur Jaya in Asturia, which, correct me if I'm wrong Dubi, is part of Espana. Gotta love spanish cannabis! lol

Enjoy the show guys! ;)

Hi inquest,

Looks like they are starting to flower quite fast, maybe it has something to do with the small pot size, if you has the chance i'd recommend you to repot them now in early flowering.

Thanks for share the Tempo Norte, im not familiarized with Astur Jaya genetics but im glad you are enjoying them. Best wishes!

:) Hello all!! It's been 6 weeks since they've sprouted and it seems they're doin pretty damn good. :)

Dubi, you read my mind. :) I repotted the 4 shorter girls last night and the shorter of the tall girls, today....if that makes any sense. :/

Here's an overall view of the box. Look at the sad state of that Tempo Norte. The pic on the bottom shows what I believe to be the culprit, Algae polluting my water. :( Noob mistake, dont let your water jug sit for long periods illuminated. I thought it was just the T. Norte struggling with the late seeds, but when I saw the beginings of the same leaf burn on the VBxThai I had to rethink my root cause.

Well, here's a picture to brighten the mood. :)
picture.php

Unfortunately, I cropped out the ruler, but the bracts are about 4-5mm across and all of 12mm long. :) I'm thinkin I'll have some big ass seeds. :) They're also showing the beginings of the resin. :D :D I'm thinking I'll remove the males in a week. I think I've got plenty of seeds starting to develope so for the rest of the grow I'll just try and give 'em all the space they want. As for the repot, They've went into 1 liter square pots and boy were they root bound in the 12oz cups!! I'm really hoping they dont get any taller than double what they are now. I'd really hate to start bending/breaking stems of these beautiful girls. Especially the christmas tree pheno, she looks amazing even at only 18 inches! I can only imagine what she'd look like in the ground!

Temps: 70F/90F
Humidity: 65%
Photoperiod: 12/12 (220watts CFL)
Water: Dechlorinated tap (entire grow, btw)

What I'm listening to: Tamikrest, Karsh Kale.

Holy cow, it's been 7 wks already! :)
Last weekend they got repotted and it hasn't seemed to phase these girls a bit. I would say they slowed down for one day. I check these girls every day, and boy do they grow! My last couple grows I've definitely thought "Man... is anything going on in that box?!?", but this, every day is something new!

Thanks again Dubi! Great genes!! :)

This is the current setup.

picture.php

Tallest girl is 28 inches from the soil, 33 including planter.

picture.php

Well Dubi, I guess this answers my Indica question!!! :biglaugh: It's crazy how much the leaves change shape as they mature!

picture.php

The tallest one also displays these lite green leaves. Gorgeous!

picture.php

A close up of the lite green girl. :) I also have a girl with quite a bit of purpling on the stem..... didnt get a good pic of it though. :(

I've been toying with the idea of keeping the lite green, the x-mas tree and the purple stemed girls seperate from the rest of the seeds (and each other) as a few directions to develope these traits further. Maybe later I can feed homogeneous traits back into the general population? What do you guys think? I think a homogeneous line would be kinda boring, but a line with a few but regularly occuring traits would be kinda like a treasure hunt. Well, a tresure hunt in which you always find a number of gems!! :dance013: Just gotta make sure that the overall population maintains an acceptable potency/quality of high... Basically, I'm hoping to have something special for many years/generations to come! :thank you:

Ic, I use plain water, although I use a chloramine breaker to help out the microbes in the soil. I had picked up an off brand and I'm not too impressed, to say the least. :/ If you check the lite green close up pic, you can see what the chloramine treatment or the brown algae did to my girls. :( Brown tips of the serrations. Thanks for the compliments and the advice, btw!

Chuck, I'd recommend the VB! They have got loads of vigor! They're also starting to get that smell I remember from some highschool era bags. :) I miss that smell! Everything now smells like citrusy diesel fueled jolly ranchers..... I bet these girls would do great in a scrog. I doubt I'll come anywhere near 1 gram per watt with this grow but I think someone like VerdantGreen could really yield well with this variety.

Hello inquest,

Nice early resin production!! :) Im glad to see you are already producing your own F2 seeds.

If you are breeding mainly for indoor growing I'd use the early flowering good yielding male.
The more VB influenced plants are better yielding, more colorful and fast flowering than thai pheno. Thanks for your updates! :smoke:

Hello, all!
Week 8 and going strong! They've responded well to the replant and clean water & water jug. 3 or 4 of them are getting the beginings of their aroma. Mostly a spicier smell, one seems sweeter, though none have a skunk smell. If they keep this aroma, smell should not be a problem. Plus, this is a nice change from the nugs that are typically available 'round here. :)

picture.php

An overhead shot of them all..... love the leaf shape! :) This view makes me think they'd do well in a Sea Of Green setup.

picture.php

There was a lot of growth from the shorter gals after repot, but the tall girls really only grew an inch or two. They all seemed to have filled out quite a bit, though!

picture.php

Here's some buds from the least dense of the girls. Still got a lot of growing to do, so we'll see how they shape up.

picture.php

Seems they're pushing out another flush of pistles. Makes me wonder how much they're going to fill out. :)

Temps: 71F/86F
Humidity: 65-70%

Thanks again all!

8 weeks and barely budded... i can't wait to grow a 16/20/26 week sativa...

good luck and keep posting them pics...

8 weeks from seed, btw. ;) So, I'm basically 2-4 weeks into a typical indica/hybrid flower cycle, time wise that is! Not too shabby! Also, these ladies started showing @ 3 weeks so I guess you could say they're 5wks into flower?

Zach, what qualities would your holy-grail have? Shoot us some info and I'm sure we could give ya some suggestions. :)

I wouldn't say I have a holy-grail strain that I'm after. I'd like to have a nice variety from stoned to happy/energetic to hallucinatory. I'd like one of the later to be so potent I'm slightly scared of it, as well!! :) lol

Stoned? Lebanese, check!
Energetic? Tempo Norte(Lesotho), check!
Happy? Stll lookin...
Hallucinatory? Still lookin....
Scarey potent? Still lookin....

and i gotta believe its one of these long-flowering sativas... just gotta convince myself to give up maybe 5/6months to flower these ladies...

Hello inquest,

It's great to hear they are reacting well in early flowering. I'd recommend to use strong lights for the rest of the flowering, this kind of sativas need lots of light intensity indoors or youll end up with leafier fluffy style of flowers.
