So Ramona, what's the smoke like with that ratio? thanks

I have to go back and read more of this lengthly thread. I am just wanting to say that I have had my Pineapple Thai tested for CBD content and it came out at 2.39 THC and 5.21% CBD. I am keeping the strain going with clones this winter and hope to have some decent ones going this spring. I am also starting some Cannatonic and Soma A+ that I hope to test this spring. Keep the info flowing!!

Here are a few pics of The Remedy from MNS, which is a work in progress twixt Shantibaba and Jaime from Resin Seeds. I am one of the lucky testers for this strain. I will also be testing the Z6 and Z7 from Jaime when I do my indoor winter grow.

according to Wiki:

Cannabidiol (CBD; pronounced /ˌkænəbɨˈdaɪ.ɒl/) is a cannabinoid found in Cannabis. It is a major constituent of the plant, representing up to 40% in its extracts. from:

^ Grlie, L (1976). "A comparative study on some chemical and biological characteristics of various samples of cannabis resin". Bulletin on Narcotics 14: 37–46.

Z6 and Z7 are 2 selected phenos from crossing Resin Cannatonic female with Mr Nice Afgan x Skunk male. The regular version of Z6 and Z7 is coming from recrossing the 2 selected F1 phenos again with the same Afgan x Skunk male, while the fem version comes from crossing the 2 selected phenos (female clones from them) with the Cannatonic again reverted with the STS to work as a "male".

I am unsure of when The Remedy will be released. Shanti is giving out some testers of The Remedy and the Z series so you can approach him to see if you can get in on the testing.
I hope that helps.

Here are some pics of The Remedy.

Thanks for the quick reply Moose... This sounds like a very interesting project. It seems strange that shanti is reversing female clones for the backcross to the cannatonic as I thought he was strictly against such practices. Is the afghan-skunk male known for high cbd as well??? Any word on the super-high cbd strain from resin seeds that is supposed to be released this month?

I also am concerned to remedy any new news I read that it would be released in February but the resin seed there is no new news

Harlequin and cannatonic is a strain I read about in the medical issue of the spring hightimes mag, and cannatonic is supposed to have almost 6.9% CBD and 6.2% THC. Harlequin is 4.9-8.0% CBD but does not say the THC content. these strains may not be as potent as far as THC but great for breading. Hope this helps

I believe 'remedy' will be from Mr. Nice seeds.

Not sure if Resin Seeds will have the same strain or name
but I think they are involved in some fasion in the project.

That's the thing with with the THC:CBD ratio.

You may not actually want to increase the THC ratio to CBD

but stick with a 1:1 ratio;

depending on your cannabis needs/desires.......

This is uncharted territory we are in, as dispensaries

are just discovering the missing CBD in marijuana.

83% of meds tested at Harborside
have tested at less than 1% CBD!

see page #9 here:

All I know is that if you grow Real Seeds Lebanese and make water hash like I did last year. You'll be wasted for sure. I felt almost drunk the next day. It's not something you want to try and be active with. Very good for sleeping or pain.

Does anyone know of any breeders that list their seed's CBD? For some reason I thought I remebered Dutch Passion listing them on their site, however I cannot seem to find it there. Maybe it was another breeder.

Check A Recent NORML Blog ... regarding a strain called "Sour Tsunami" from Southern Humboldt Seed Company (?). IIRC, it is available in both clone and seed form at Harborside. The ProjectCBD website has considerable additional info.

This strain from seed will produce 1/4 with CBD ~ 11% and THC ~ 6%. The other 3/4 of seed will produce CBD ~ 1% and THC ~ 20%.
By growing both and then combining the results in an extract, the results have been CBD ~ 12% and THC ~ 25%, iirc (drawn from the sources listed above).

[Sorry, no links ... my network connection is absolute crap this morning. :( ]

i don't see many seedbanks offering landrace seeds which is a shame. I was of the same opinion that a landrace indica would be my best chance of getting what i need but it seems hybrids are the go. Obviously landraces don't sell as well because they aren't quite as potent as hybrids and most seedbanks are more interested in catering for the recreational user rather than a medicinal user.

I noticed that canna biogen has a landrace Taskenti and also seedsman is offering a moroccan landrace (called hash passion). I haven't been able to locate any other landraces at present but i will keep looking. Maybe i should try one of these two in the near future.

Do ruderalis hybrids contain high CBD?

peace
I don't see why landraces would not be as potent as hybrids, I am reading a journal on another forum with shanti, neville, and a bunch of other breeders about searching for their holy grail, really interesting info on landraces, some stuff from australia really looking promising, looked at a strain called mullamby madness, wow!!

From the Project CBD site it lists Soma's A+, aka Rockbud nowadays in the shop, as a high CBD strain. It seems like the only confirmed high CBD seed strain available here at IC. Some Nirvana Misty phenos from 1994 also had high CBD, but of course it's now discontinued now that it's true value has been discovered. F me, I actually remember the last of these being sold off at seedbay. Bubba Kush (pre 98 and other cuts) also apparently tests consistently with high CBD.

http://www.projectcbd.com/Availability.html#Marketing

Rockbud 10 packs are sold out but the 5 packs are still there and buying 2 is cheaper than a 10 pack somehow. Too bad about the low yield.

edit: just been doing more reading and some tests of pre 98 bubba turn up almost no CBD.
