first off thanks to everyone for any advice they offer. free online learning is the wave of the future and it's all thanks to selfless people like yourselves.
i germinated some Dinafem Roadrunner seeds recently, not thinking they would sprout because two people told me the ones i gave them didn't sprout. well, 7/9 did and so i put them in jiffy peat rooters.
i have a cabinet that is 20x33x50" with the mylar on the inside and some holes cut in it (someone gave it to me). right now i'm using 2 CFL 26w 6700K bulbs on 24/0 and a heater because i have no central heating in my apt.
i've kept them close to 70 most of the time, but it got cold for a bit due to some black outs. nonethless, the plants are sprouting - 1 is already putting out it's first serrated leaves (i forget what all the terms are).
so my questions are - how can i keep the temperature stable when i can barely keep the temperature in my apt stable. i'm planning on getting a 250w HPS to use after the CFL bulbs are done vegging - which I'm guessing isn't long with lowyrders - so that should make the cab hot, but then what about when my apt gets hot?
i'm not very mechanical and i don't have much money, but from what i understand i have to make some ventilation ducts run through a carbon filter with an inline fan - and i need some kind of thermostat i'm guessing?
what's the best way to do this for the least amount of money - because i don't have much.
also, i'm thinking about using coir. i haven't read a whole lot about it yet, but what little i have read sounds promising.
how much coir should i get for maybe 8 plants?
should i get some smaller biodegradable pots to put them in before putting them in big pots of coir to see which are male/female before devoting lots of coir to them?
i've read 1 gallon pots are enough for lowryder strains - is this true?
i'm sorry for my lack of understanding - it's not that i haven't been reading a lot and just think you should all do the head work for me. i have a lot of other stuff to read and there's so much to learn with this hobby, so i really appreciate any help i can get.
thanks a lot.
