Vertical in a 10 by 10 room

Is a 10' by 10' room to big for a vertical shelf system. I really can't alter the room anymore than just hanging the metal shelf supports. I will be using 2 1000watt lights one above the other.

I see most vertical systems are in rooms that are 8' by 8'. Will my room be too big to get proper light coverage?

I wish I was more thinking 30 metal shelf hangers and some 1" by 6" boards but thanks. I am more concerned with whether my lights will be too far from the plants.

As long as you have plenty of reflective material on the ceiling and floor, you shouldn't worry. But you are running way too much room for only 2 kw of light! I would be considering 4 kw.

lets just figure it out... when you hang a 1k in a horizontal position with a flat garden, what is the height? 3-4 feet i would guess. no experience with 1k lights.

so with a "ideal" radius in mind... 2r= 6-8 feet. thats 8 feet between the bulb and top of growth medium. if you are considering room for medium, that would be like 9x9.

depends on what style you go with but i would take a little extra space for res and other BS to get the right distance. i am planning on doing a similar set-up. 600's though and a scrog net.

2 bare bulbs hung vertically.
each plant gets 4+ sq ft of area (64+ cubic ft) of volume.
thats 2 plants per 1k, getting 360* of light.
veg for 30 days. top, train, re-pot, etc.
huge tomatoes!

You could run 4 of these, each one is 2 weeks apart from each other. Get a staggered harvest of a nice 46 ounces every 2 weeks...

10x10 is too big bro, corner off one section of the room to about 6'6" x 6'6"
4' x 1' shelves
dont put any plants in the corners
hang your 2-1ks vertical and move alot of air up, down and all around otherwise the top ones will dry out much earlier than the bottom ones.

thems the basics
