Vertical bare bulbs in greenhouse... Anybody tried it?

Hey all,
I was thinking about setting up a dep hoop and want to supplement light during lower light times of the year and was wondering if anyone has tried using rows of bare bulbs between there rows in greenhouse. I've never done a vertical grow but I have a lot of experience inside and outside. I was thinking of hanging the bulbs between rows of hundred gallon pots. This seems like a low cost, efficient way to light a greenhouse especially while plant numbers are still an issue.

Thanks in advance for any input!

i thinkthis is a good idea, they will also have a small footprint and not block much light during the daytime.

depending on where you are you may not need the HPS lighting, i know many folks that supplement with CFL's, even christmas lights are enough supplemental to keep them awake.

i was dead set on running DE fixtures in my greenhouses year round, but i realized the sun is incredibly powerful and i get great growth in winter months with CFL supplemental. saves me thousands on power and fixture costs.

I think in the summer time I won't need to use the supplemental light besides to keep them awake and for that I will probably use cfls or a row of T5's across the top. The one time I harvested a dep in december the yield was pretty lite, but that could have been that it was too cold. The bare bulbs will also help warm up the G-house.

Thanks for the input!

I'm putting up a 12' x 20' GH in the next couple of weeks. October through harvest I will be running four 600 watt HPS lights to help finish flowering. I expect last sativas to be finished by second week of December. Planning on having lights on an hour after sun up and off again an hour before sun down. No real science behind my light schedule. I don't want to bring any unwanted attention to my GH is all. I don't know if I will start a thread here or not. I will be having updates on the Ace thread for sure. This will be my first GH grow. I'm sure I will have some questions along the way. Peace
