Venting a 1000w HPS

A little advice please. I have a 1000w hps light and a Big Kahuna Hood with 6 in ports. I purchased VenTech IF6 6" Inline Duct Fan 440 CFM from amazon. I got it a few days later hooked it up and i could not notice any temperature change. AFter a few weeks i took of the glass of the Big Kahuna and i noticed the fan does not blow very well but it sucks very well. Any advice on a better fan to blow air across the bulb or someone who use a vented 1000w hps light to telll me what they have use. Any help will be appreciate

Vented hoods tend to work best with the air being pulled through them. If you can, try flipping the fan so that it pulls. The only thing to watch for is that if the air being pulled through is a lot cooler than room temperature you may get condensation on the ducting, insulated ducting will help this if it crops up.

Thanks. I have read that the air should be blown across not pulled across. That being sad i have no reason to believe the other post above yours. i will flip it as soon as i can. I have the air being pulled from the space in between the first and second floor and i have the air flowing back up in there all with insulated ducting.

Hey thanks guys. So i flipped it and have not noticed a difference yet. I have an ac unit in there i am trying not to run if i dont have to. Currently the high is right at 80 at canopy level rest if the room around 75. I am about to add a 600w light with another air cooled hood. I just wanna keep it out of the 80's.
