ventilation question.

Well, preferably if your exhausting up high through a carbon filter you want negative pressure to ensure odor contorl. If more air was coming in then going out, smell would be leaking out through holes in the tent. If more air is being sucked out then brought in, everything is being sucked through the carbon filter. You want just enough negative pressure to see the walls of your tent slightly concave. I've seen too much pressure colapse a tent so it's best to have both your intake fan and exhaust fan on speed controlers. This also allows you to have complete control over your environment.
