Ventilation question

I'm setting up my ventilation right now and am wondering if it will be an issue to put a 6" reducer on my 8" carbon filter so I can run the ducting through my 6" hoods then have that go back onto a 8" expander connecting to the blower then out.. Here is a diagram so you can see what i'm talking about. Thanks for your help

Peace

6" duct will flow 500 to 800cfm depending on the horsepower of the blower. That's also a long way to suck all that air. I'd consider an inline booster fan if you find yourself having flow issues.

the fan at the end of the system??? it wont work good, the fan must be placed right beside the carbon scrubber...

thanks for your help. I'm going to buy a inline booster fan because the ducting is running a good 17feet before it's out of the grow space. It goes up through my ceiling, through my attic a few feet to a big air vent

walker: i have the same principle as you have now, fan on the exhaust of the system - very very bad idea, place the fan right after the carbon filter as u were told and u'll have a much better flow without having to add some boosters.
my opinion ofcourse

They're right
the carbon scrubber reduces cfm already and having that far away it might even stop the airflow... i agree with scegy: Fan right after the scrubber is the best option

Let me get this right...

Inside cab ~~> [| |] - [| |]======|600w|==|600w| ~~~~> || Exhaust

blower/scrubber ---- lights (cooltube)

i was told by the seller to push the air through the lights and out to exhaust? Is this correct?
