Ventilation For My 2 Cabs? (pics)

Got some major thinkin to do... :chin:

Specs-
*600 watt in a 3ft X 3ft X 4 or 5 ft high (cab 1)
*400 watt in a 3ft X 3ft X 4 or 5 ft high (cab 2)
*1 carbon filter in each room

total volume: 6ft X 6ft X 5ft (to be safe) = 180 ft^3

i plan on aircooling both cabs and try to maintain within 5 degrees of ambient temps.

would a 6 inch vortex be enough to cover the ventilation and smell? Also, could all of the equipment be sustained on one breaker?

Would it be efficient if i attatch the carbon filter to the lights and then exhaust through the fan? so the airflow would go from inside the cab to inside the filter to inside the light to out of the room...

oh and if u wanted to know, i have the intention of growing out a full pack of seeds to select the best male and best female... i think those lights can provide for the little fellas up until the big decision... from there, cloning begins hehe

p.s. sorry for the sketchy sketch but i think you get the idea... i drew it up in about 20 min. and open to any suggestions

Those cabinets are way too big. In both setups it's less than 15 wpsf.

Huh? I thought to figure wpsf you took height x width divided by wattage. In the first cab, he has 9 sguare foot. Divide 600 by 9 gives 66.7 wpsf. The second cab has a 400. Again 9 square foot. 44.4 watts per square foot. As for his idea of using a 6" vortex to cool both cabs, I'll leave that to others. I ain't any good at figuring out dual stuff. I'd worry about back drafting. Air follows the path of less resistance. What kind of lights, ie aircooled hoods? I would put the carbon filter after the lights in case the hood has air leaks.

Oh, wait you're right.

MY FAULT!

Haha! Damn, that was dumb as hell, I added on the height too for whatever reason. At first it didn't seem right even, so I did it twice, haha.

That was some real dumb shit right there, goddamn.

I think subconciously I actually combined CFM's and WPSF into some weird bastard hybrid equation.

lol no worries about your mistake...it happens to the best of us.. hehe

thanks for your input... i was probably going for an aircooled tube for each...however i might just settle for an aircooled hood... i still cant decide

I do agree with you to have one carbon filter after the fan... just makes sense...

anyone else?

You can use 1 fan (it has to be a centrifugal fan like the vortex 6 inch).

To effectively cool 1,000 watts you need at least a 450 CFM fan.

Where is the hot air going? Is it going to an attic or back into the room? I would use 2 air cooled hoods, 1 hose sucking out of each cab, combining the 2 air hoses in a Y connection down to 1 hose then into the fan and out the fan and through the carbon filter.

If you have 2 carbon filters (1 in each cab) that would be the best way to do it so that when you exhaust the hot air, it has already been filtered.

So yeah your drawing is correct.
