veg lighting

growing up

I received two grow lights from a friend a while back, two 1000W HPS in one room & one 600W HPS in the other room. After a couple of grows I got my rotation down to where I'm just now flowering and I got some veggies in the other room that just rooted. The end result will be 9 big girls in 7 gal pots under one 1000W, the other 1000 will be a month and a half behind when I move the veggies in. The small cuttings are in .75 gal pots under a couple 100W CFL's and they are out growing the light pretty fast. Since I'm only doing 9 at a time, I'm hesitant to put such small cuttings under the 600W and spend all of that $ on electricity when I don't have to at the moment. Anybody got some opinions on some cheaper lighting options that I could use for the .75's that's between the 100W CFL's and the big 600W HPS?

Hi dude. I use a "Plug & Grow" 250W / 6100K 'blue' horticultural CFL (also known as "Envirolite") for vegging - next grow I will be adding a 125W 'red' version to the 250W 'blue' for vegging.

[Nb. If you do decide to go with the above though, please be aware that there are lots of cheap nasty (and potentially dangerous) Chinese knock-off's on eBay and elsewhere on the web]
